unscrupulous people will likely break into and rob anyone who has a stash
( maybe God has other plans for you)
This passage makes me think that all the preparing we are going to try to do will be for naught...we just need to follow God and be prepared spiritually.

I can’t help thinking about dying horribly if I was to face the Great Tribulation. After Armageddon, the Bible says that only a few people (if none at all) will be still alive on the whole planet. Given the small luck I have had in my life, I ought to just rejoice of being one of those beheaded Christians "out of the Tribulation" when I think about this. It’s hard enough to keep faith and patience right now, so I can’t imagine how much harder it will be during the last period of the Tribulation. Anyways.. Just wanted to share my feelings on this.

How do I know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to me or if it is just me being nerved up??

Some have the feeling to store food and supplies, some don’t feel this need.
Could it be the different “rolls” we will play during the tribulation?
Only God can answer that. God is in control!
I had a strong feeling to stock up on supplies (food, batteries and medicine) before 2000. No, we did not use the supplies on Jan 1, but an unusually sever ice storm did come a few weeks later. Power was out for several days and we were all grateful for the extra needed supplies. We had enough for ourselves and to help friends that didn’t.![]()
We are “working class” people, drive older cars and do not have big resources to plan with. We have live in the same home for over 30 years.
For the past couple of years I have had a feeling we would not retire here. Now I have a strong feeling to pack up and get ready to move. My husband thinks it’s a little crazy, our home is not on the market “for sale”, but he has even discussed what yard plants I want to take with us.
I have prayed about it and the feeling is growing stronger, so I have gone through some things and donated to charity. Things we don’t use daily are being packed. I feel we will be moving to a new home soon. After we move, I know to stock up on supplies.
I don’t know what I am getting ready for just that I feel God is in control and guiding me.
To not get ready would be the same as saying no to God’s guidance. I don’t want to do that.
1 John 1:6 wrote:If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
1 John 2:4 wrote:He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Matthew 6:26 wrote:Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 18:20 wrote:For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Tithing what you have on hand is for the Israelites in the Old Covenant for the support of the Levites. Christianity has a somewhat different rule for almsgiving:MChat wrote:Now retirement seems like something that will never come. I've been having trouble making ends meet recently (being faithful in tithes was not part of my budget when I bought this house) and prayed to God for direction.
Jesus doesn't want you to become destitute.6Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
