Jehu is my 3rd great-grandfather. Born in Boonesboro,Ky. in 1787. He was a pioneer and woodsmen and came to Missouri with Daniel Boone in 1807. His father and friends helped build Boonesboro and Harrodsburg and fought in The Revolutionary War on the western front, which was Kentucky. He had 11 sons (other 11) and I wrote a book about him and our Stewart Family.
I am always sticking my foot in my mouth and wanting to vindicate myself! HA!! Seriously, I really have to fight, wanting to fight for what is right. I hate to see injustice
and I am bad to want to defend those who are mistreated. I get into trouble like that.
Also it is very weird, but in the book of Peter(1), the dominant theme is suffering. Well ,that word seems to follow me around everywhere. I read Luke 22:31-32 one time after I went through a really hard time in my life, and it made me cry. Peter loved Jesus but at the same time his faith was going to be tested to the limit. Knowing that Jesus sees everything before it gets to me, then covers me in prayer, makes me feel alot better.
Peter, I think felt very deeply. Look how it effected him to see Jesus stare him in the face and hear the words, "I don't know Him". One scripture says (Luke 22: 60-62) he had wept BITTERLY(that is, with painfully moving grief). Been there, done that!
I'll try anything once, too. Lord, bid me to come to You! If it's You out there on that water, bless God , I'm a comin'!
Postby Freedom Gundam on Fri Mar 18, 2005 7:24 pm

I love these type of threads!! I am a huge forum junkie.

This screen name comes from the Anime cartoon 'Gundam' series. A Gundam is pretty much a huge robot used for military purposes in the various Gundam stories. The Freedom is a mobile suit whose power exceeds it's predecessors and was intended for evil. However, it falls into the hands of Kira Yamato who uses this powerful "mobile suit" to protect his loved ones from the antagonists in the story.

The ZGMF-X10A Freedom was designed to bring and end to the war in "Mobile Suit: Gundam Seed" by an extremist faction of the ZAFT military bent on the destruction of the earth (sound familiar?). Ironically, it falls into the hands of the protagonist (Kira) - in which case it earns the name "Freedom" Gundam.

In the story, Kira says "It would be nice if we could live in a world where we didn't have to fight and live in peace" - which is exactly the way I have always felt!!

Having grown up in a street gang since the age of 11, I have spent my entire life responding to violence with violence. I have never been at peace within myself until the Lord Jesus Christ came in to my heart, the Prince of Peace. At the age of 26 I am at peace with myself.... Thank You Jesus!!!
Back when I was in grade school we had to pick an animal that most fit our personality and do a report on them. I picked the Wolverine for some reason for it's ferociousness. Then when the X-Men came out I could see alot of similarities between my personality and Wolverines (maybe not such a good thing). lol I'm an ex marine, wrestling state champ, and am 5'10" 250 pounds from lifting weights for the last 21 years of my life. I got a kick out of watching Wolverine in the Xmen movie because he is a very quiet guy like myself that fights the bad guys because he thinks it's the right thing to do. He doesn't exactly exemplify Christian values, lol, but he is one tough guy you would rather have as a friend. I can come across a bit edgy and aggressive, but deep down inside I love and care for everyone around me and want to help my fellow brothers. I always stood up to bully's in school when they were picking on kids smaller than them. I wouldn't hurt a fly though - unless it tried to hurt me first. lol

Postby Loner on Thu Mar 31, 2005 2:05 pm

I'm not sure if this thread is acitve any longer, but here goes:

I've been calling myslef Loner since I was about 10 years old.

1) It gives a mystery-like atmosphere. It tends to somehow intrigue people online that a Loner is posting on talking in an online community. "How un-loner-like".

2) I'm not a loner at all. In my high school Senior class presidency, I lost the election by a mere 16 votes out of a 400 member class. People flock to me and support me. If only I had advertised and hung posters *sigh*

3) I AM a loner in the sense that on a day-to-day basis, its me all alone against the evils of the world. I fight and defend the little guy no matter what (see my defense of Solana in the debate section ). Yes, there are allies, but when you get down to it, if you don't fend for yourself, you'll be trampled by evil.

4) Loner just sounds cool. I have the unique ability to manipulate and influence others as if they were my best friends without even knowing them. The believe that they know me well, but inside, I'm mysterious and unwilling to discuss anything personal.

Hmm, I'm sure there are more reasons, but that's all I can think of now. I'll post more if I think about it.
Loner

OK, I thought I had posted what my name means some time ago, but when I looked through it tonite I didn't see anything at all.
I guess I never posted the meaning of my name either? Hmmm.......well on here it's my real name. I also go by a bunch of other names from back in my wild days but the names I use now are my first and middle initial followed by my last name and year of birth (typically). I do have a couple of names I use when I go to Yahoo and play pool...One is Randall_Randalls (I don't check e-mail or use messenger with it) and often ask the people I play against about their Faith... (why Randall_Randalls? I haven't figured it out, just popped into my head lol)....and the other one is when I'm in a serious "GET THE WORD OUT" mood and go to play pool on Yahoo and it is readaboutrecommendation666 (I think I spelled it correctly...it's so long!) It's my hope people will click on my name when I'm in there and do a google search on recommendation 666. I do play a little pool on that name also but not as much as I do under Randall....I guess he's just my pool hustler name lol...

One final one that I use is esoteric_1_2005. I don't know HOW or WHY that name came into my mind one night but when I looked up esoteric in the dictionary it made absolutely NO sense to me at the time. Now it is perfectly clear to me what it means. Esoteric means:

www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=esoteric&x=22&y=16

I have read for understanding something to the effect this word usually refers to cultual things but in my case, I am going with the Webster definition of:

requiring or exhibiting knowledge that is restricted to a small group <esoteric terminology> <esoteric strategies>; broadly : difficult to understand <esoteric subjects> (contained in the link).

I had NEVER heard this word before but had heard variations of it some 30 years ago. Why when I decided in my heart to follow The Lord would this word come into my mind? I think with every bit of me that new internet name was inspired elsewhere. I just pray it wasn't satan's wiles trying to confuse me.

Anyway, that's my internet history of names! LOL!
I chose Knight of the Word because The Word is my favorite name for Jesus and a knight is the Kings soldier doing his bidding. Todays world needs more knights.

I chose my name when I was considering joining a board. I've always had an anti-establishment edge and before I was saved anger and rebellion to go along with it. I saw hypocrisy in my parent's religion and hated to go to church.

(Don't want to give my whole testimony, so........)

My favorite songwriter, Rich Mullins, said once (I think I read it in the book 'An Arrow Pointing to Heaven'), I've always been prone to bash sacred cows, sometimes it can be offensive, but I can't help it.

I have that in common with Rich. Hopefully, I've been graced enough by the Holy Spirit and trials and temptations, to where it's hardly noticeable. Anyway, thus, sacredcowbasher. I have to be careful to try and not to live up to the name, but I will try to live up to His name. I feel that I may have found a home here as I sense kindred spirits.

simplicit: short for s-implicit-y. Chosen because of the simplicity of the gracious gift, and the root word implicit.

implicit within simplicity

Im `plic' it: Resting on another; trusting in the Word or Authority of another, without doubt or reserve; UNQUESTIONING, COMPLETE, as... Implicit confidence; implicit obedience. ie. "Back again to implicit faith I fall."
-Webster's 1913

Related words: absolute, adducible, admitting NO exception, all-out!, attestative, authentic, based on, CERTAIN, circumstantial, CLEAR, CONCLUSIVE, constructive, convincing, cumalative, DAMNING, decided, deep seated, DEFINITE, DOCUMENTED, down right, ENTIRE, esoteric, evidentual, explicit, express, FACTUAL, FINAL, flat out, FULL, GENUINE, GLOBAL, immanent, implied, inappealable, indicative, indirect, INDISPUTABLE, INDWELLING, PERFECT, SAVING!, SURE, UNLIMITED.....

need I go on? It is EVERYTHING. It's a word that, dare I say contains the entire concept of the Word of God!
Hello everyone! I'm new to the board and this is my first post. I chose this name because if you have Jesus in Your Heart, You've Got It All.
I've been reading this board for a few months. Jesus came into my heart over a year ago. Before that I "thought" that I was a christian. Boy, has my life changed!
Hi Terri and everyone here! This is my first post, too! I just wanted to say that I have been reading this board for a few months, and thought it would be nice to join in. As my name suggests, my husband is in the Navy, and we are currently in Spain with our two children.
I look forward to being able to fellowship here on this board with everyone. I am very interested in prophesy, so I think this is a good place to be!
ummm.... I'll try to be brief in explaining.

Some of you may find this hard to believe but I used to be very "Quiet". I am ultra sensitive by nature, overly analytical, detail oriented which is great in my line of work but horrible socially. I seemingly notice every little thing and analyze all possible reasons for what I notice. (Not great in social circles....much better to smile and say nothing.)

I got hurt a lot and grew up in dysfunctional home with lots of siblings and no friends. So I learned that I seemed to get in trouble when I wasn't "Quiet". You may have heard the saying, "It's the Quiet ones you have to worry about." Well, in my case that's true. It's a protective stance really hard to break. Trust me, if I wasn't protected by the computer shielding me from real notice, you'd probably not notice me at all. I could be around you for months or years without drawing notice or if you noticed you may not ever know what I really think. It is the feeling of "safety" in speaking via Internet that gives me courage to voice some of the thoughts swirling in my head. The problem is after I voice things, I replay what is said, over and over and over till I'm sick with worry that I said too much or said it in the wrong way. Then I over analyze everything everybody else has said till I'm sick with worry. (I guess you can chalk me up as Obsessive and Compulsive too.) LOL I'm much better with written communication than verbal. Socially, I clam up and make myself small and unnoticeable. (Starting to understand why I should be Quiet? Maybe I need professional help. )

So I started being Quiet to:
A.) Avoid notice. Notice brought attention and attention brought hurt. Became Quiet to avoid notice and avoid the hurt.
B.) Avoid notice! Notice brought attention to what I was doing. I always wanted my own way, went my own way and avoided people questioning me or stopping me from what I wanted by being Quiet and avoiding people from noticing what I was doing. "Out of sight, out of mind!"
C.) "Quiet" was also supposed to remind me that I am better off when I AM "Quiet".... that part doesn't seem to be working for me anymore.
D.) "Quiet" was also supposed to be representative of "tone of voice" reflecting gentleness in my words in case my words were mistaken for being harsh. My words may have become harsh but I never wanted them to sound hard.
E.) "Quiet" is what I strive to be in social situations because I was taught that it is better to "remain silent and give the impression of knowledge when opening your mouth removes all doubt." But as I can't seem to keep "Quiet!" ... now you all know that I know nothing. LOL

Ltl = Little because I'm small. I'm the tallest female in my family standing at the whopping height of 5 feet. All the females in family are petite.

Me = Well that is self explanatory.

There you have it. What my name means, though the Obsessive and Self-centered side of me tells me that I've already said TOO much! Hope you all can forgive me. I must go berate myself "Quietly" for telling you all this.
1. Psycho, though possibly true, has a bad connotation.
2. Underdog, because the stupid comic dog fights for the underdog..... Yet I am more a mother lion when I see people hurt without cause...ripping people to shreds with my mouth.
3. Lioness is too royal a name for me cause the only thing I consider royal about myself is a royal pain the ..... LOL. (Okay all joking aside, I know I am a daughter of the King.)
4. Maybe I could be STORM from the X-men, then I could control the storms of life that swirl around me. (I don't look like Halley Berry.... so I guess that's out. Darn!)
5. Word play on the word "Quiet" or no longer "Quiet" doesn't have quite the snap I'm looking for. Maybe I'm just not that creative.

I should have a nice Christian or Scriptural sounding name, like most of you.
