1Co 6:12 Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power. 
1Co 6:13 Food [is intended] for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will finally end [the functions of] both and bring them to nothing. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but [is intended] for the Lord, and the Lord [is intended] for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again]. 
1Co 6:14 And God both raised the Lord to life and will also raise us up by His power. 
1Co 6:15 Do you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts) of Christ (the Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and make [them] parts of a prostitute? Never! Never! 
1Co 6:16 Or do you not know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh. [Gen. 2:24.] 
1Co 6:17 But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him. 
1Co 6:18 Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 
1Co 6:19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, 
1Co 6:20 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. 
 
 
If I did this wrong, please forgive me and tell me how to do it right. I am particularly interested in 1COR6:12

Kettle..basically it is this...regarding all things are permissable. 
Becasue of the grace given us by the work of the Cross we are free from following religious law. 
This was an especially important thing for the new gentile believers because some jewish believers still wanted to hang onto major aspects of the law and figured the gentiles must too. 
But Paul understood the gospel of Grace. 
Basically we are free to enjoy this life without reproach. 
For an example, all food is given as nourishment so we don't have laws to obey regarding that. However if someone has a hangup on say pork, then we respect that and don't eat pork in that person's presence. 
But at the same time there is a moral law that God has placed in all of us which we must follow. 
Like avoiding sexual promiscuity. 
We know it is morally wrong to steal, lie etc.. 
And we work to avoid those things. 
Scriptures says it is not what goes into a person that defiles him..but what comes out that does. 
When a person's heart if full of unbelief and anger for instance...thier words and actions show it. 
When a person is full of faith and secure in that...thier words and actions show it. 
consider this: 
*** 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 
 
As to the passage you referr too...if what you are doing causes someone to stumble in thier faith or doubt thier faith then what you are doing or saying is 'not' permissable. 
 
That is basically how it works.

Yes I think it does. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, he death atoned for all our sins and freed us from the law. This is basic doctorine as atonement is through grace and not works. We will not be judged by the law but by our hearts and the contents thereof? 
 
I also found these verses; 
 
2Co 13:4 For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He goes on living by the power of God. And though we too are weak in Him [as He was humanly weak], yet in dealing with you [we shall show ourselves] alive and strong in [fellowship with] Him by the power of God. 
2Co 13:5 Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected? 
2Co 13:6 But I hope you will recognize and know that we are not disapproved on trial and rejected. 
2Co 13:7 But I pray to God that you may do nothing wrong, not in order that we [our teaching] may appear to be approved, but that you may continue doing right, [though] we may seem to have failed and be unapproved. 
2Co 13:8 For we can do nothing against the Truth [not serve any party or personal interest], but only for the Truth [which is the Gospel]. 
2Co 13:9 For we are glad when we are weak (unapproved) and you are really strong. And this we also pray for: your all-round strengthening and perfecting of soul. 
 
 
 
One question does lead to another, we are to be judged by our fruits as well, Christians do sin, even after being saved, I believe Jesus Christ said; 
 
Mat 18:21 Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? [As many as] up to seven times? 
Mat 18:22 Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven! [Gen. 4:24.] 
 
If we are to forgive one another repeatedly then God will forgive us repeatedly, as long as we repent and seek righteousness?

As long as we stay in forgiveness and true repentant heart and line ourselves up with the Written word...out of that will come good works from a good motive ...and that is to please the Lord. 
 
and when we do make a mistake and sin, as soon as we see what we have done we run to the Lord and ask his forgiveness..and scripture says..he is willing and able slow to anger quick to forgive. 
 
Works or fruits are the evidence of a redeemed and set free heart and spirit. Understand?

This leads me to the concept of judgement. 
 
I found; 
 
Joh 5:19 So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn]. 
Joh 5:20 The Father dearly loves the Son and discloses to (shows) Him everything that He Himself does. And He will disclose to Him (let Him see) greater things yet than these, so that you may marvel and be full of wonder and astonishment. 
Joh 5:21 Just as the Father raises up the dead and gives them life [makes them live on], even so the Son also gives life to whomever He wills and is pleased to give it. 
Joh 5:22 Even the Father judges no one, for He has given all judgment (the last judgment and the whole business of judging) entirely into the hands of the Son,

God the Father has given all judgement to the Son, Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ has given Salvation not through judgement of the Law but through grace; 
 
Joh 1:16 For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. 
Joh 1:17 For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ. [Exod. 20:1.] 
Joh 1:18 No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known]. [Prov. 8:30.] 
 
 
 
 
A free gift to all that will take it. But it must be received by an act of repenteance; 
 
Mar 2:17 And when Jesus heard it, He said to them, Those who are strong and well have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick; I came not to call the righteous ones to repentance, but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin).

This is a good subject...it seems to be on the minds of many. 
The confusion on this subject is steming from the OSAS doctrine mixed with the ecumenicalism that is sweeping the world church. Most important to keep our swords polished against this beast.

It has snuck into mainstream straightlaced churches and people are waking up... only to realize that something bad their way has come.

And well...it has left much confusion regarding the issue....where none need be. 
 
But...the bible says it will be this way...even so...for those who know their God...there is hope...and they will go on to do great exploits<img src=http://forums.catholic.com/images/smilies/signs/amen.png ALT=":amen">

Joh 14:2 In My Father's house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

Yes Kettle it really is very simple and we go and make it complex. 
We can blame it on the devil all we want to....and many do...but truth is all it takes is one who has the faith the size of a mustard seed to turn on the light. 
 
The biggest problem today....is that people snack on scripture. 
They have pet verses that they build a doctrine around...deceiving themselves and others. 
 
Deu 18:20 But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' 
 
See there are 2 kinds of deceivers....one is pagan...the other is adulterous. 
Its the adulterous one that trips so many up. 
But we cant lay even that squarely on his shoulders....we each are accountable for ourselves in the end. 
But even so their leaven spread like cancer so that today we see the full blown results. 
Thats why the unlearned and unbelievers think that Gods word contradicts itself....<img src=http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sad/sad0122.gif ALT=":verysad"> 
 
Its the full council of God or nothing....we cant pick and choose what we want to believe and hold fast to.
