Need Prayer We Got Scammed

Well the kids are out on Summer vacation, and with both my wife and I needing to work we needed to see about child care for my 11, and 8yr daughters. Well my wife thought that a horse camp would be awesome for the girls. She found out about this great horse day camp for kids here in Colorado that teaches kids how to ride. It's a full day camp for 6 weeks, and it was pretty expensive. Well the day the camp was supposed to start we got a call from one of the managers of this camp telling us that the owner was just killed in a car crash that morning by a drunk driver. Well we told this person that we would be praying for the owner and family, and to let us know when and if the camp would start up again. Well they never called back, and after my wife did a little research comes to find out that this so called camp is a scam. Not that the camp doesn't exists, and that they do charity rids for disabled kids every now and then, but seems that they have pulled this camp scam on hundreds of people. We went to the police and they took my wife to this person's house to look into this complaint of ours. The police say that this is not the first time dealing with this person, but that they can't do anything since it is a civil case. The only good thing is that we paid through PAYPAL with a credit card, and we are fighting the purchase. Anyway, you all know how tough things are financially for us all. We spent a lot of money travelling back and forth to NY for my Dad when he was sick, this will hit hard but God will bring us through this. Please pray for my family right now. Blessings

Just talked to my 11yr daughter Elisa who suffers from extreme anxiety. She told me that she is worried that we would go broke because of this. Really breaks my heart. I told her that nothing gets past God. That He loves us and takes care of us in-spite of the wrong people do to each other. God will bless us through this situation. He always has and always will.

drdos, I am so sorry to hear about this! It is incredible that this sort of issue is not considered fraud or embezzlement or something else....premeditated, and therefore, even worse! Our laws are flawed when someone can plan and execute these types of offenses!

Totally agree. I wish local authorities would at least block his website, but then again that would infringe on his rights.

Visa is sending us papers to fill out to file a claim. The rep said we should get our money back.
