USGS: 3 earthquakes recorded in Okla.
AP – 20 mins ago...

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Authorities say three earthquakes that have shaken much of central Oklahoma could be felt as far away as Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

The U.S. Geological Survey says on its website early Saturday morning that a 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:12 a.m., with an epicenter about six miles north of Prague in southern Lincoln County. That's about 50 miles east of Oklahoma City.

A 3.4 magnitude aftershock was reported at 2:27 a.m. from the same location.

The survey says a 2.7 magnitude quake also was recorded at 2:44 a.m.

Lincoln County sheriff officials say there have been no reports of injuries but several people have reported items falling off walls.

Oklahoma City police officials say they have received several 911 calls, but have no reports of injuries or damage.

Magnitude 5.8 quake hits N. Chile, no damage seen
By Todd Eastham | Reuters – 1 hr 12 mins ago...

SANTIAGO (Reuters) - A 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook northern Chile early on Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of any damage to property or copper mines in the area, emergency and mine officials said.

The temblor struck at 3:13 a.m. EDT and was centered 13 miles northeast of Antofagasta, at a depth of 20.5 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, revising the quake down from an original reading of 6.0 magnitude.

State emergency office ONEMI said the temblor had knocked out cell phone services in some areas, but it had received no reports of damages.

A union official at Anglo American's 90,000 tonne per year Mantos Blancos deposit near the epicenter said workers had felt the tremor, but operations were not affected.

I have been noticing all of the major earthquakes in the past week; Peru, Vanatau and the Phillipines.

Now several new major volcanoes are ramping up. RSOE EDIS noted today that 3 volcanoes in Iceland started rumbling earlier today, a volcano in Africa just started erupting and another volcano in indonesia has started to smoke and ash. That is added to the 14 other volcanoes that have been erupting for several months now, including the Cleveland Volcano in Alaska and increased eruption activity for Kiliua in Hawaii.

With all of the horrible weather they are having in Eastern Europe, Russia and Japan, it just feels like something big is happening??

Re: Earthquake watch (March 22nd, 2012)

So what do you make of these March 22nd predictions?

I don't know. I'm no astrophysicist. I don't get the whole dark mass, that is not a measurable thing...

But it makes sense to a Reader's Digest layman.

I have wondered for awhile about a few things in the upcoming event calendar.

Israel wants to attack Iran, but it's one thing to want to, even want to badly and quite another to pull the trigger.

Russia and China have Iran's back. If you want to unleash world war 3, on your little postage stamp sized nation, well then go right ahead.

I'm not at all unsympathetic or unappreciative of how deeply they are backed into a corner.

I'm just saying, it might take something extra to push Netanyahu to sign the order.

What is this prediction is true? What if the west coast is devastated and tsunami's bounce all over the Pacific from the Aluetians in Alaska to Tokyo. What if America is devastated and in no mood to go start a war?

I happen to believe that sooner or later a terrorist attack will get through. Perhaps it will wipe out NYC and mystery babylon (not weighing in on who MB is, but it wouldn't take much to put us on the ropes).

If a dirty bomb were used, who detonated? Who do we attack? Al Queda? Where? Iran? Russia? China? North Korea? Pakistan? Some rogue group? The Muslim brotherhood? Not like we can see the jet plume from the ICBM.

Is it America's turn for judgement? Seems like God always judges His own people first. Those who should know better.

Can we really enter the rapture or millennial kingdom, without fair justice being administered? As Billy Graham said (paraphrased) "if God doesn't judge America, apologies to Sodom and Gomorrah".

Proposition 8 struck down and the church is not rioting in the streets. Madonna at the Superbowl and no one cares.

It is the churches job to step up, but the salt has become flavorless...

If America were out and Israel surrounded, Netanyahu would feel he had absolutely no choice.

If March 22nd is real and imminent, if war with Iran is imminent, then Ezekiel 28-29, Psalms 83, Isaiah 17, Obadiah, Jeremiah 49 must be right in our lap.

I am fond of quoting Chuck Missler, "if you people decorating for Christmas, you know Thanksgiving's not far off".

Rejoice for our redemption draws near and tell someone.

Rude reminder: Small quake rumbles near Illinois-Missouri border
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/loca ... 5943.story
Associated Press

11:55 a.m. CST, February 21, 2012
Just days after the 200th anniversary of a series of massive earthquakes in southeast Missouri, residents woke up Tuesday to a rumbling reminder that they live in one of the continent's most active seismic areas.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of a magnitude 4.0 earthquake at 3:58 a.m. was located near the town of East Prairie, Mo., roughly midway between St. Louis and Memphis. Several people in five states — Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee — felt the quake, along with scattered people in four others, as far away as North Carolina and Georgia, according to responses to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

Earthquake "swarm" hits the Big Island
http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/1699 ... big-island
BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) says it recorded an earthquake swarm that began around 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday.

The earthquakes are located about three miles north-northwest of Kilauea volcano's summit, near Namakanipaio in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. The seismic swarm has included more than 60 earthquakes, 14 of which were greater than magnitude-2. The largest was a 3.2 earthquake at 6:55 a.m.

The earthquakes are located along the Ka'oiki Pali, a southeast-dipping normal fault near the boundary between Mauna Loa and Kilauea volcanoes. This area has experienced episodic seismic activity since the 6.6 Ka'oiki earthquake in 1983. Previous earthquake swarms have occurred along the Ka'oiki seismic zone in 1990, 1993, 1997, and, most recently, in February-March 2006. These swarms lasted anywhere from 1 day to several weeks, rarely exceeding magnitude-4.

Moderate earthquakes rattle Kilauea as swarm continues

By Star-Advertiser staff

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake rattled the summit of Kilauea early this morning, continuing a swarm of small tremors shaking the region since Wednesday.

The earthuake, recorded at 3:53 a.m., was centered near the summit of Kilauea.

A police dispatcher in Hilo said she had not received any reports of damage.

USGS geophysicist Randy Baldwin said since the earthquake struck on land, there was no tsunami danger.

On Thursday night a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was felt on Hawaii Island. That earthquake, which hit at 9:11 p.m., was centered 5 miles west of Volcano at a depth of 3.2 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The shaking was felt up to 75 miles away in Waikoloa, according to the USGS. A flurry of small temblors were recorded after the 4.1 magnitude quake.

On Wednesday, USGS officials said a swarm of more than 60 small, shallow quakes — the strongest measuring magnitude 3.2 — were recorded in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Swarms of small quakes have been recorded before in the area and sometimes signal a shift in the eruption of the east rift of the volcano, they said.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.

Japanese quake an ominous sign for B.C. 'megaquake'

VANCOUVER — Scientists are still unraveling last year's giant Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and some of what they're finding doesn't bode well for B.C. and the Pacific Northwest.

Detailed analyses of the way the Earth warped along the Japanese coast suggest that shaking from a Cascadia megaquake could be stronger than expected along the coasts of Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, researchers reported Sunday at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

"The Cascadia subduction zone can be seen as a mirror image of the Tohoku area," said John Anderson, of the University of Nevada.

Anderson compiled ground-motion data from the Japan quake and overlaid it on a map of the Pacific Northwest, which has a similar fault — called a subduction zone — lying offshore.

South Pacific Nation of Vanuatu Hit by Large Quake

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wir ... 1rZ1vVOzIE
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.7 earthquake has hit the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. There are no reports of damage or injuries.

The monitoring agency says the earthquake hit just after 6 p.m. local time and was centered 129 miles (208 kilometers) southeast of Port Vila, the capital. It hit at a depth of about 19 miles (31 kilometers). The agency originally said the quake was 7.1, but revised the magnitude downward.

The region lies on the "Ring of Fire" — an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones that stretches around the Pacific Rim. About 90 percent of the world's quakes occur in the region.

TOKYO – A strong earthquake shook northern Japan on Wednesday evening, causing small tidal changes on its Pacific coastline but no damage or injury was reported.

Several towns issued evacuation orders or advisories to residents nearest the coast. A swelling of 8 inches was observed in the port of Hachinohe in Aomori, northern Japan, about one hour after the quake struck the region. Smaller changes were also reported in several locations on Hokkaido island and Aomori prefecture.

The Japan Meteorological Agency lifted all tsunami advisories about an hour and half later.

The agency said the tremor was 6.8 magnitude. An aftershock of magnitude 5.9 struck followed about two hours later.

The Giant, Underestimated Earthquake Threat to North America
http://discovermagazine.com/2012/extrem ... -northwest
The enormous fault off
the coast of the Pacific Northwest has been silent for three centuries. But after years of detective work, geologists have
discovered that it can
 unleash mayhem on
an epic scale.
Just over one year ago, a magnitude-9 earthquake hit the Tohoku region of northeastern Japan, triggering one of the most destructive tsunamis in a thousand years. The Japanese—the most earthquake-prepared, seismically savvy people on the planet—were caught off-guard by the Tohoku quake’s savage power. Over 15,000 people died.

Now scientists are calling attention to a dangerous area on the opposite side of the Ring of Fire, the Cascadia Subduction Zone, a fault that runs parallel to the Pacific coast of North America, from northern California to Vancouver Island. This tectonic time bomb is alarmingly similar to Tohoku, capable of generating a megathrust earthquake at or above magnitude 9, and about as close to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver as the Tohoku fault is to Japan’s coast. Decades of geological sleuthing recently established that although it appears quiet, this fault has ripped open again and again, sending vast earthquakes throughout the Pacific Northwest and tsunamis that reach across the Pacific.

What happened in Japan will probably happen in North America. The big question is when.

Australia hit by biggest quake in 15 years
Australia has been hit by its biggest earthquake in 15 years, seismologists said, rattling a remote part of the desert with local Aboriginals reporting strong shaking but no major damage.

The 6.1-magnitude earthquake had its epicentre near Ernabella, in the middle of Australia, at a shallow depth of three kilometres (1.8 miles), Geoscience Australia said on Saturday.

Huge quakes off Indonesia stir panic, but no big tsunami
BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (Reuters) - A powerful 8.6 magnitude earthquake and a series of strong aftershocks struck off Indonesia on Wednesday, sending people scurrying from buildings as far away as southern India, but there seemed little risk of a disastrous tsunami as in 2004.

Indonesia said it was checking for damage and casualties but remarkably, no such reports had been received for several hours after the quakes, including in Aceh, the closest province and the area decimated by the disaster eight years ago.

However, some areas close to the epicenter are remote so it could take some time to find out if there was any damage.

Many people were frightened of further tremors.

The April 11, 2012 Event: cluster of large earthquakes rattle the globe from Indonesia to Mexico
http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress. ... to-mexico/
April 12, 2012 – WORLD – A strong earthquake hit Mexico on Wednesday, shaking buildings and sending people running out of offices onto the streets of the capital Mexico City. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.5 -magnitude quake was centered on Mexico’s Pacific coast near Michoacan and struck fairly deep under the earth at 65 km or 40 miles. Prior to the Mexico earthquake, a powerful and shallow 5.9 struck near the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate off the coast of Oregon- indicating tectonic plates worldwide are being rattled by planetary seismic tension. Prior to Oregon earthquake, two massive 8.0+ magnitude earthquakes (8.6 and 8.2) struck the ocean floor off the north coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. As I warned in my book The Extinction Protocol, the power unleashed in these seismic events is growing.

Fracking Tied to Unusual Rise in Earthquakes in U.S.
A spate of earthquakes across the middle of the U.S. is “almost certainly” man-made, and may be caused by wastewater from oil or gas drilling injected into the ground, U.S. government scientists said in a study.

Researchers from the U.S. Geological Survey said that for the three decades until 2000, seismic events in the nation’s midsection averaged 21 a year. They jumped to 50 in 2009, 87 in 2010 and 134 in 2011.
Those statistics, included in the abstract of a research paper to be discussed at the Seismological Society of America conference next week in San Diego, will add pressure on an energy industry already confronting more regulation of the process of hydraulic fracturing.

“Our scientists cite a series of examples for which an uptick in seismic activity is observed in areas where the disposal of wastewater through deep-well injection increased significantly,” David Hayes, the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Interior, said in a blog post yesterday, describing research by scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey.

Earthquake in Bulgaria felt in North Greece, too
Athens. A strong earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale rocked Bulgaria at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, and was also felt in parts of Northern Greece, and especially Serres, eKathimerini informed.
The tremor, whose epicentre was Pernik, a town on the outskirts of the capital, sent people out of their homes, though no serious injuries were reported by Greek or Bulgarian authorities.
Pernik did suffer extensive structural damage and was put under emergency status as residents were evacuated over fears of strong aftershocks.

People jump from buildings in panic
after moderate quake strikes Turkey

Ankara, Turkey – A moderate earthquake shook southeastern Turkey on Thursday,
damaging a mosque's minarets and injuring a handful of people who jumped off buildings in panic,
-
The epicenter of the quake was in the village of Pinaronu in Sirnak province,
close to the borders of Syria and Iraq. The temblor toppled the top of a minaret
of a mosque and caused cracks in a second minaret
in the center of Sirnak.

There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity
at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world,
for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power
and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption is drawing near

Earthquake swarm strikes Baja, California as tension builds along the fault
July 1, 2012 – CALIFORNIA - An intense earthquake swarm has erupted around Baja, California following the stress eruption of shallow twin 4.6 and 4.7 magnitude earthquakes. The two earthquakes have produced about 16 notable aftershock tremors. The Pacific Plate is being nudged northward and the North American plate is moving southward and tension is building along the southern region of the strike-slip fault known as Laguna-Salada. The region saw a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 1892 and a second major stress eruption occurred with another 7.2 earthquake on April 4, 2010. Prior to 2010, the region had not produced a major earthquake in over 100 years. Since 2010, the region has only grown more restless. 2012 saw a notable increase in tension along the region of the fault which has been exacerbated by movements of the Cocos plate to the south. –
