My Son

My Son

Postby Swayde on Sun Sep 25, 2011 3:46 pm

My 16 year old son told me he's agnostic and thinks that Christianity is "just a good moral compass." So please pray that God will open up his heart and eyes so that he will know the truth. I think he's just rebelling and I believe that if God can bring me back from all the terrible rebelliousness I went through, that He can do the same for my son. I just pray it's before things get too bad for him.

Oh Swayde... I remember when my daughter told me she wasn't sure if there was a God, or if He existed, that he cared about her. I can testify that prayer has been answered on her behalf! She loves God with all her heart now.

I will definitely pray for your son...

Praying for your son along with all our kids who are entering into their young adult years, and questioning the faith they have been brought up in. They have to put their own feet under what we have taught them, prayer does make a difference.

Swade my son claims to be agnostic also. Its like a thorn in my side, I guess the greatest thorn I carry. I'm never giving up that the Lord is going to save him. I know He will because He said to ask in belief and He will carry it out. Never loose hope on anyone, no matter how young, old, or the circumstances around them. God can save whom He pleases.

His name is Kyle. Thank you all so much for helping lift my baby boy up. I've been through quite a bit in my life, but this is the worst. I do have hope though. I have been faithful and obedient in training him up in the way of the Lord. The Bible says if we do that, then the children will not depart from the faith when they are older. So I believe that he will come back and is just being stubborn and rebellious. I believe both my son and my husband will be saved, as a mother and wife I just wish it was sooner rather than later =)

If it's any encouragement to you, Swadye, although having gone thru 12 years of catholic school, I didn't believe in God. In fact, I didn't until the age of 30 when some circumstances caused me to begin to search and thank God, I found Him.

Never lose hope; the Good Shepard loves your son and wants your son in the fold.

"If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. Matt 18:12-13

Dearest Yeshua,

Please surround Kyle with those who know and love You today. Soften his heart and give him a hunger to find You. We trust You for his spiritual awakening Lord. May it be sooner rather than later Lord. Thank You for taking care of him. Amen.

 praying for Kyle now.
Deuteronomy 4:30-31
When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

My son's middle name is Kyle. Nathaniel Kyle. I think Nathaniel means "gift of God" and Kyle means "fair and handsome". I think I did a pretty good job naming him because he is both of these. I could write a really good story about how God let me know that my son was a gift to me. But I have blabbed enough bout me and mine.

My advice to you is to pray but in trust. Those teen years taught me that. Always trust that the Lord will answer your prayer. He only wants the best for us. Wisdom comes through life...a process. Although I think there is a passage that says something like the fear of the Lord is the begginning of wisdom.

Praying for protection from God Almighty netted around Kyle. My son has matured more in the last 2-3 years than ever. Not that he doesn't have a ways to go. I'm working with it though, slowly, trusting, taking any opportunity for discussions though I feel so inadequate. I know one thing, anyone with a Godly man as a spouse is a very blessed woman. I have had to be both mother and father in my son's life so we have a pretty close relationship. Like I said though, I've been through it with him.

Will be praying for you both. :a2:
