It is Finished! Moshe, My Servant, is Dead!

Shalom and good morning from Eilat Israel!

The cross of Christ changed th world. But it first changed a people. It changed the way in which God dealt with the Jews, His covenant people. For the Lord established a New Covenant, and removed the Old Covenant of the Law. His cross both fulfilled the Old and established the New. In His death the Old was satisfied. And in His resurrection the New became the reality.

And the cross changed peoples. For the Lord fulfilled His promise to Abraham to make him a 'multitude.' The gentile nations were brought into the blessing of Abraham. The 'people of God' became not a matter of flesh but of faith. Jews and Gentiles became one people in Christ. For the middle wall of partition was broken down.

However, there are those today who would resurrect this wall. Many so-called Hebrew Christians, or Messianics, in a effort to 'return to the root', have re-mixed-up Law and Grace.

The sacrifice of Christ fulfilled compelety the Law of Moses. He removed the 'covenant' of the Law. Is it still wrong to murder? Yes! Is it still wrong to eat shellfish? No! It is right to circumsize? No! Is it right to bring an offering to the temple? No!

Every jot and title of the Covenant of the Law is accomplished! It is finished! The Law is dead! So do not re-build what was destroyed. And this includes the temple and blood.

If every jot and title has not been fulfilled, then EVERY jot and title still has authority. And if such is true, then Gentiles which have been brought into the covenant are under obligation to Moses. There are not two paths, one for Jewish believers and one for Gentile believers.

Many say Christ 'renewed' the covenant of the Law. He made it possible for people to keep the Law. Not so! If anything was re-newed it was the covenant with Abraham.

It is Finished!

I would agree that Christ has fulfilled the law and there is nothing else needed for salvation accept Jesus Himself. But does that mean we reject everything Jewish? Does that mean we put God in a box and say that He cannot have His own temple rebuilt? Have we decided for God that as we are called a temple He cannot have His people Israel rebuild a temple to Him?

Zech 14 clearly states that the feast of Tabernacles, a Jewish feast, will be celebrated every year when Jesus reigns from Jerusalem, a Jewish city. Isa 2 also indicates that the temple will be on the temple mount and Jesus will reign from that temple in Jerusalem. Zech 6 also indicates that Jesus, the Branch, will rebuild the temple that He rules from in Jerusalem. Rev 21 indicates that we will spend eternity in the New Jerusalem, named after a Jewish city.

The temple will be rebuilt, that is clear, and from Rev 11 and 2 Thess 2 it will be called the temple of God. Jesus will reign from Jerusalem in the temple according to Isa 2, apparently God still has a purpose for His temple, and God still has a purpose for the people of Israel and their feasts.

Hi,

No, we do not reject all things Jewish. The Church is built upon this Jewish foundation. The things in the Law and the Prophets and the Psalms proclaimed our days. And indeed, God has not rejected the Jews. Indeed, this is what my website is all about. God is again visiting the Jews to call out the rest of His remnant. But this does not mean He has some separate covenant with national Israel.

Yes, we will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. Why? Because it is the Feast of the In-Gathering. And when the Lord returns, all will be gathered to Him. He has prepared a place for us. But it is only preparation for the eternal habitation.

We, the people of God, are His vineyard. We are the Zion of God. And we will rule with Him in His Kingdom as priests and kings, from Jerusalem. And His Law which goes forth from there is not that of Moses, but rather the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

I am about to write a post on the place of Israel, the nation.
