Can't Change My Settings

Postby proparent on Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:40 pm

I'm trying to go into my profile and change my email address (the old one is no longer in use) and to change my location (I don't live in the Twin Cities anymore). And it won't work for me, it won't let me change that info. What am I doing wrong?

Lisa, go up to the top of this page and you will see some links up there. Click on your Profile from there (under the Herb's Commentary link) and that should get you in.

Yes, that's what I did, but once in when I changed the info and clicked on the save changes it wouldn't take it. It just said that my email didn't match the email in the files.

Did it say your email didn't match, or was it maybe the password that didn't match? To make changes to your profile, you have to enter your current password in the box immediately following the email box. If you don't, you'll get a message that the password doesn't match and the changes won't be made. Try again, make sure you enter your password, and let us know whether it works or not.

Well, it looks like it all worked out. When I was trying to get these things changed earlier, I got inactivated. But now it looks like I'm back OK, and the changes are showing up like I want. I wonder why I got inactivated? I thought I'd never get to talk to you guys again!!!!
Never mind, everything seems to be OK now.

When a user changes their emal address, their account has to be reactivated. Since we use admin activation, and admin had to reactivate your account. I had forgotten that would happen, or I would've let you know beforehand.
