This week's conference, sponsored by the Jerusalem-based Center for Kohanim, was billed as the first reunion of the priestly family since the days of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem some 2,000 years ago. Yes, Hal Lindseys show this week was discussing that they could id the Levites by their DNA. Their DNA has special characteristics different from other jews that they could now find them through testing.

No, but I believe Hal is a credible source. He has friends that could have confirmed to him that they had one. I would expect there would be little media about it to help keep it quiet. The heifer would become a prime target of muslims(and possibly some in the Israeli government) if they were sure of it's existence and could find it.

Hey,
The news of a red heifer being born is good news. BUT....they have had a couple of other ones born and have been under great scrutiny and developed white hairs sometime later. The red heifer has to be slaughtered in it's third year so only time will tell.
Just some more general info: Some think that what is needed is the ashes of the last red heifer to purify the temple. I'm sure there is all kinds of debates going on over this, but never the less they also think they are really close to finding those ashes. It is my understanding that they believe the ashes to be at the seventh layer (whatever that means) and they are excavating the sixth layer now, one more to go.
Either way it's close.
