Completion of the High Priest's blue robe

Postby ChrisJ on Tue Jan 23, 2007 6:38 am

Did you guys see this?

"The Temple Institute announces, with great joy and reverence concerning the historical import of this momentous occasion, the completion of the me'il techelet - the blue robe of the high priest. The seventy two golden bells and seventy two pomegranates woven of blue, purple, and scarlet wool have now been attached to the hem of the robe. Thus concludes a three year effort. Tomorrow, the 14th day of the month of Kislev, the month of the rededication of the second Holy Temple, the me'il techelet will be delivered to the Temple Institute's Treasures of the Temple exhibition in the old city of Jerusalem. There it will join the already completed ephod and breastplate of the cohen gadol - the high priest."

Made according to biblical specifications, the vessels so far completed include a menorah made of pure gold, a golden incense altar, and the Table of the Showbread, a wood and gold device that holds 12 loaves of the wheat bread, which are replaced every Sabbath. Silverman's favorite is a harp, but most tourists fancy the high priest breastplate, which features 12 gemstones representing the 12 tribes of Israel, she said.

Very interesting, ChrisJ!

Do you know the actual date when the above quote was written (the first one)? I'm asking this because I visited the Temple Institute in Jerusalem this past summer, and I saw all these items on exhibit. I assumed then that they were already complete. But maybe all the bells and pomegranates hadn't been attached at the time I saw them. :dunno:

If I am not mistaken (I very well could be), the robe was completed in 2005.

Anyhow, it doesn't matter if it was done one month ago or 24 months ago, it is done and standing by to usher in the best part of history the world will ever know.

Nope, I have no idea when any of these items were completed. I am just amazed that they are!!

They are currently working on the Brazen Laver.

I never thought I would have any interest in seeing Israel, its historic and Holy places, or any of the Temple stuff that has been prepared, but lately I have really been obsessing over it. If the Lord tarries a long while, I would like to go... maybe with Chuck Missler's tour. As I understand it, everything is ready for Temple reconstruction... right down to the prefabricated blocks of stone. The Temple could go up much quicker than we imagine when the time comes. Lately, I think it will take Israel emerging victorious in a seemingly hopeless Gog-Magog scenario to galvanize the Israelis and prompt a spiritual reawakening that would insist upon reconstruction. Some kind of war seems to be coming. We shall see.

Exactly! I know many here are already aware, but too often we hear people saying the temple is not yet even begun.

What a shock it will be to see it go up in 6 months (or less perhaps).

If we see the temple starting to go up in the next 3.5 years, we can pretty much be sure that this is the 70th week!

You know, after serving in the Marines in some pretty scary situations, I have come to a place in my life where the only really scary thing about a given situation is the unknown, that is, how it will turn out.

I look at the end times the same way. Things may get really bad, I may have to watch loved ones suffer and/or die...but just on the other side of that door is what I focus on.

One thing I think of often is how Jesus must have felt knowing what he had to do. The Gospels tell us he was sweating blood at one point, which has been observed medically in situations of great distress. But he knew what was on the other side of the door.

I hope I can be as brave. Even if I fail, I know he won't fail me.

I SECOND that :a3: !!!
Your ONLY HOPE is to put your faith in Christ. Admit you're a sinner seperated from God. You CAN'T save yourself. Jesus died on the Cross for your sins. If you believe that, then tell God and ask Him to save you.

I think there is one more item that is not available yet, namely the ashes of the red heifer (Num 19), necessary for purification in the Temple sacrifices. The last one that I can find, born in 2002, was later disqualified. No more news about a red heifer after that. Anyway, the red heifer has to be at least two years old (three, but when born, it starts at age one) to be sacrificed.

Also, some orthodox Jews say that they need the original ashes mixed. This doesn't appear to have been found yet, also. However, this requirement is not in the Torah, and others say it can be side-stepped.

New Red Heifer Being Raised
As of May, 2006, Irvin Baxter Jr. of End Times Ministries reports that the Jews have a red heifer, born 3½ years ago in Jerusalem (among the cattle born in and imported from Mississippi). If it does not get disqualified like the previous red heifer candidates reported over the past years (such as "Melody"), it could mean that one more obstacle to the construction of the Third Temple is gone. Irvin said that the that according to Chaim Richmond of the Temple Institute who is driving force behind it, the red heifer was ready to be offered up in Jerusalem.

I'm a bit skeptical. Now, let's see. 3.5 years before May 2006 brings us to the end of 2002. That's about the same time as the disqualification of the latest (reported) red heifer born. Given the approximation, it is highly likely that Irwin was referring to the red heifer that later got disqualified.

In Rabbi Chaim Richmond's book on the red heifer (copyrighted 1997 and 2005), he did not mention that it is ready. Of course, I have no information between 2005 and today.

I often listen to Politics & Religion on the internet. Baxter was with a tour group in Israel last year, and at the Temple Institute someone asked about the red heifer. That's when Chaim Richman said their was now a qualified red heifer.
