Holy Ghost (Spirit) Question......

Postby Rogerakk on Tue Sep 19, 2006 2:26 pm

I think, but I'm not sure... that the bible mentions our rewards at the Bema seat of Christ... talking about blessings that were brought on by the motivation of the Holy Spirit and not our own works... to help someone, etc... kind of like a tuggin at your heart to do something....

Have you guys ever just have to do something out of nowhere ? Like seeing someone poor and just instantly have to go buy them a sandwhich and it kind of takes over you and you have just GOT TO DO IT....

Is this the Holy Spirit?

Thanks,
God Bless.

Yep. . .Was once motivated to buy a whole bag of stuff for a woman standing on the corner with her dog and a sign. Even got the dog some biscuits.

Yes, many times. Just yesterday, I was working in the garden and had a vivid recollection of a person I knew when I was about 10 yrs. old. I had a distinct impression that I should pray for him. While this incident was about sharing something tangible, I believe the Holy Spirit was asking for me to intercede for this individual.

P.S. I don't have the best memory, but this person's name was clear as a bell from 50 yrs. ago.

I appreciate all of your lovely sentiments, but Jesus was teaching Jews when he talked about the poor or the prisoners. The Jews would have never gone outside their gates to take care of the heathen poor or prisoners.

In the church, today, there are enough people who are without, that we could keep ourselves busy meeting the needs in the Body of Christ. Instead, we go look for someone who doesn't give a rats rear about Jesus and meet their needs instead.

THe needs of the poor in the church need to be met first. IF you have no poor people, then contact Voice of the Martyrs and take care of someone in the church who is starving to death. I promise you can keep yourself busy taking care of God's people.

hmmm...... not sure I can agree with you completely, redeemed.

I'm not aware of scripture that tells us that the needs of the Body of Christ should be met first. I'm not saying, of course, that to minimize your suggestion, just to say that the needs of unbelievers seem to be equally important to Jesus IMHO. If you can provide scripture that shows otherwise, please provide it. I'll be happy to change my outlook.

If we are led by the Holy Spirit of God and we are led to provide the needs of an unbeliever, it may be the very act that leads that individual to the Lord. Look what Jesus said about the man who was dying by the side of the road:

Luk 10:30 Jesus replied and said, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
Luk 10:31 "And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Luk 10:32 "Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
Luk 10:33 "But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion,
Luk 10:34 and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
Luk 10:35 "On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.'
Luk 10:36 "Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"
Luk 10:37 And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."

And here:

Jam 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

And here:

Isa 58:6 "Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

These verses to not speak of believers only. God's love is not limited to believers only.

For God so Loved......

Postby Mrs. B on Thu Oct 19, 2006 7:40 pm

FOR GOD SO LOVED...

For God so Loved the World....That He gave His only begotton
son......That whosoever believed in Him should not Perish but have
Everlasting Life.......

God is Love......

John 2:1.......My Little Children, these things write I unto You that ye sin not.......

And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.....

2......And He is the Propitiation for Our Sins.......AND NOT FOR OURS ONLY.....

...................BUT ALSO FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD......

17......And the World Passeth away....and the lust thereof....But He that doeth the Will of God.......ABIDETH FOREVER....

18......Little Children.....it is the last time: and as ye have heard....That An-ti-christ shall come........Even Now are there Many An-ti-christ;

Whereby we know that it is the Last Time......

19.......They went out from us....but they were not of us......

For if they had been of us....They would no doubt have Continued with us.

But they went out....That they might be made manifest that they were not all of us....

20......But....Ye have An Unction.....from the Holy One....and ye know all things...

27......But the anointing which ye have received of Him Abideth in you....and ye need not that any man Teach You:
But as the Same Anointing teacheth you of all things.....and is Truth....and is no Lie....and Even as It hath taught you......

........YE SHALL ABIDE IN HIM....

28......And....NOW.....Little Children....Abide in Him....That when he shall Appear....We May Have Confidence......and not be ashamed before Him....at His Coming......

As believers in the Messiah, the only thing we will take out of this world is what we did for HIM while we were here..

One night comming home, I had an overwhelming urge to goto the Bus station downtown. I prayed about it, and still felt convinced. When I got there I sat down and spoke with a guy about the Gospel, he had told me how he had been running into people like me all week, and how he decided he wanted God, but did'nt know how to go about it.
