Same-sex marriage: Will New Mexico become 15th state to allow it?

The five justices presided over two hours of oral argument examining how to interpret ambiguous state marriage laws that neither authorize nor forbid marriages of same-sex couples.

Three more states – Illinois, New Mexico, and Hawaii – could legalize same-sex marriage in 2013. Another wave could come in 2014, with as many as five states moving to repeal constitutional bans. Nevada’s constitutional ban could fall in 2016. Court cases could also hasten legalization in some states, such as Pennsylvania, and ultimately could bring the issue back to the US Supreme Court.

Leviticus 18:22, 24-29 is translated: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)

That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Bipartisan support boosts gay rights legislation

Gay rights advocates — Republicans and Democrats — are newly upbeat about the prospects for Senate passage of a bill that would prohibit employers from discriminating against workers on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity….

Opinion polls underscore Collins' assessment. A Pew Research survey in June found that more Americans said homosexuality should be accepted rather than discouraged by society by a margin of 60 to 31 percent, or nearly 2-to-1. Opinions were more evenly divided 10 years ago……

Current federal law prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, race and national origin, but it doesn't stop an employer from firing or refusing to hire workers solely because they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. The bill would bar employers with 15 or more workers from using a person's sexual orientation or gender identity as the basis for making employment decisions, including hiring, firing, compensation or promotion…..

Think not that there will be no consequence for our tolerance of sin. The evidence confesses the truth of the impotence the establishments found on every corner that claim to led us in truth. Cry and wail because the Sprit of truth is not convicting of sin, judgment, and righteousness. Pray that our eyes be open that we may be able to escape the things coming. Again I say pray, and wait on the Lord with faith in expectation.

If you are afraid to speak out because someone may be watching or listening, how will you stand in the day of provocation? Will you tell the Lord that you would have been brave when the time came to stand? I tell you that time has came and went, we cannot hide from the Lord who knows all because He is in us. In Him we have our life, movement, and being.
