Recently there was an event in Jerusalem called “A Night to Honor Israel .” The event was put on by Christians United for Israel, an organization founded and headed by Pastor John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, which has 19,000 members and is passionately pro-Israel.

Pastor Hagee started holding such events around the US back in the early ‘80s. The audiences were lean in those days, but today they are well attended with a significant number of Jews, including Orthodox in the seats.

The events are non-proselytizing, and designed to demonstrate genuine love of the Jewish people by Christians who recognize Jews are G-d’s Chosen People. The invocation at the Jerusalem event was lead by Rabbi Schlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat. Keynote speakers included John Hagee, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.

While certain theological statements made by Pastor Hagee will challenge traditional Jews, his words regarding Israel’s right to exist, and defend itself are absolutely spot on.

President Obama would do well to have such an understanding.

Can someone please explain Zionist? And What is a Christian Zionist. the more I am diving into this I am finding the Kabbalah is popping up in all of this and its esoteric teachings. This also leads to Talmud following Jews. the more I am looking into this the Sanhedrin are really an offspring or evolved from the Pahrisee. None of this is setting well with me. The Pharisee are the persecuters of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps I don't know much about this and if someone could chime in with mroe knowledge I would love to hear it but from what I am understanding a lot of these top Rabbi's study the Kabbalah and its estoeric practices for a few hours a day.

To me, a Christian Zionist is someone who sees Jerusalem as the Capital City of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, where He will rule and reign for a thousand years. It's the Mount where Abraham obeyed God, and made His Promise to his decendants... it's recognizing that is God's land, He put his name there: SALVATION.

I highly recommend John Hagee's book, "Final Dawn Over Jerusalem". In it Hagee makes it crystal clear why Christians should be pro-Israel. Excellent read. A real eye-opener.

I highly recommend John Hagee's book, "Final Dawn Over Jerusalem". In it Hagee makes it crystal clear why Christians should be pro-Israel. Excellent read. A real eye-opener.

I am all for God's chosen people and the Land of Israel. But the Bible tells me there have been Ahabs who have led Israel at times and worshiped Baal. I am a little leary of Kaballah studying Pharisee . . . Israel must pass throught he fire and be refined as told in Zechariah. 2/3 will be cut off and die and the 1/3 will pass through the fire and be refined. That 2/3 are not cut off for no reason.

Reason enough to support the Jewish people:

1. They are a sovereign nation who are fighing enemies at every turn.
2. There are many yet who will accept Jesus before the Lord's return.
3. When the Bible speaks of Israel, it really does mean Israel, not any place else. Jesus Christ will be returning to Israel.

Yes, there are many who will not accept Christ and are even corrupt as in any government, but that does not negate their sovereign nation status. There is no replacement theology.

P. S. I believe that Hagee teaches...forgive me if I get the terminology wrong...dual salvation. Basically, the Jews won't have to accept Christ to be saved. I'm no 100% sure about that, but I think that's the case. If that is what he teaches, it is 100% wrong.

I don't believe in duel-salvation; but through faith in the Risen Christ ONLY. Salty, is my understanding of Christian Zionism wrong? I consider myself a staunch supporter of Israel and pray that they will come into knowledge and a relationship with their TRUE King, Yeshua Messiah.

Christian Zionism is not wrong. However, the word 'zionism' has received a negative connotation because many confuse it with the dual salvation thing that often goes along with it, especially for folks like Hagee. Also, people sometimes mistake the support of Israel for the support of corruption which inevitably is a part of every political system. Love the Jewish people, support their right to exist as a nation, and pray for their salvation which will only come through their acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord!
