Israel has been fighting the Iran nuclear deal due to the great danger it poses, but senior Western officials have revealed it is also doing so because once a deal is reached, the European Union (EU) and UN are planning a diplomatic offensive targeting the Jewish state.

The political assault is meant to force Israel into returning to yet more peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA) and making dangerous concessions in the process - and reportedly the EU already has a list of sanctions ready to force Israel to bend.

A senior Western diplomat told Ma'ariv in a report published Tuesday that "a diplomatic attack against Israel is expected soon that will surprise even the pessimists in Jerusalem."

I fully expect to see this kind of pressure from the EU upon Israel. This, coupled with the EU's plan for a "nuclear free zone" will necessitate some sort of agreement and guarantee for Israel's peace. This group of nations will get stronger as the US leadership vacuum continues. My editorial ends...

Europe - Israel's new enemy ?

Israel awoke several days ago to a new reality. For years we have been hearing that one day the world would boycott products from the occupied territories. We have been hearing that a time will come when Israeli sports teams would not be able to play in Europe given the absence of a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. The fact that despite the declarations over the years, no one boycotted Israel, was taken as a sign that they were idle threats. No one, Israel thought, would actually dare act.

When the new European Union directive was revealed last week, barring the 28 EU member states from cooperating with Israeli organizations in the West Bank, Golan and East Jerusalem, surprised Israeli leaders lashed out at the new enemy – Europe. In Israel's political coalition system one cannot talk of one government “voice”, as it has numerous positions and ideologies, but the general attitude was one of shock at the EU’s decision and a need to fight back.

Suggest that the focus of the Bible prophets is on the Middle East .... not a Euro-centric revived ancient Rome/pope kingdom

If you want to understand the visions you must redirect your view and study the controversy between Israel and the Muslims

The things which get "exempted" from the nuclear agreement are as interesting (if not more so) than the things which are included...

The P5+1 has arguably made deeper concessions than the lifting of the arms embargo, which adds to the irony of a prospective deal meant to stem the spread of nuclear weapons hinging on a matter relating to conventional arms.

The installation of 1,000 centrifuges at the illicit Fordow nuclear facility, the exemption of Iran's potentially nuclear-capable ballistic missile arsenal from the nuclear talks, and a retreat from international insistance on full disclosure of Iran's previous nuclear weaponization activities are all more significant negotiating achievements for Iran's clerical regime.
