Veteran politician Hassan Abdul Azim said about 100 protesters tried to get into his office as Mr Ford arrived.
Mr Ford remains in the building, which is still surrounded, two hours after his arrival as he waits for security forces to escort him out.

Democracy at work, or is that working toward democracy? Nevertheless, take away these good folks black crude and you would find that they are OK with sub third world status.

Our appeaser-in-chief should have never allowed an ambassador to be there to begin with. Sanctions should have never been lifted. I guess Obama will wait till he is in a coffin, to call him home.

Apparently stones were involved.

Also in the artical:

"Two embassy cars were damaged. The U.S. delegation is still there and the crowd is surrounding the building," said the witness.

Sorry I have to keep editing - had to know. The J post said

Toner said US Ambassador Robert Ford and his staff were safely back at the US embassy, and denied Syrian government accusations that the United States has sought to incite violence against its security forces.

How long that is going to be a safe place no one know, but thank God their safe for now.

It is just plain insanity that they would have left an ambassador there with what has been going on in that country. This isn't the first incident.

Could they possibly be hoping something will occur to the ambassador, to give them an excuse to go in ? If not, then they are even stupider than I gave them credit for.
