Hisown plenty of Americans would do those dirty jobs if given the chance and paid adequately. The problem is there are many employers who prefer illegals so they don't have to pay minimum wage and they know Mexicans will work for dirt cheap.

No doubt in Obama is pandering for the Hispanic vote. What part of illegal does he not understand? He has a complete disregard for the laws of the land. I shudder to think what he will do if he gets re-elected.

Scary thought. I have always been amazed at some of the bold things presidents do just before going out of office. Radical stuff gets done in the closure of presidencies.....sometimes. For example, didn't G. Bush do some huge injection of money just as he was exiting?

What gets me is that he doesn't have the constitutional authority to make law.

You may be interested to know that many immigrants are here quite legally. And in fact, many citizens of this country take on what you might call the "dirty jobs", whether of Hispanic lineage, or European, or Asian, or whatever.

I wouldn't make the mistake of assuming every Hispanic looking person who is mowing a lawn or polishing a rich man's car is an illegal.

But even so, there is a criminal sub-culture of people who do not respect our laws, having entered the country illegally, and have demonstrated their willingness to continue to disrespect our laws in other ways, such as forging documents, circumventing wage and tax laws, automotive insurance requirements, and any number of other laws.

And, there seem to be plenty of people who are equally willing to disregard our laws by hiring these people, often times to take advantage of their status, knowing that they can get away with things someone who has the legal right to work in this country wouldn't stand for.

That our government, and other sectors of our society not only allow these things to continue, but even encourage them, is a serious concern to our law-abiding citizenry. We recognize that this isn't just a matter of some kid who's parents brought them when they were 2. This is a far more serious issue, which, in the minds of many, requires a more meaningful solution that will both address the real needs of those caught in the middle, such as my fictional 2-year-old, that will uphold our constitution - the law of our land - and will hold accountable those who violate our law.

For perhaps a bit of balance, you may want to research Mexico's policy towards illegal immigrants.

PS . . . I would add that those who unwittingly hire these criminal trespassers, thinking that they have the legal right to work here, due to their forged documents, are being being victimized by them. Here you have a company that believes it is keeping the law, doing things right, and is building their business with the labor of their workers, as businesses do.

What happens when these workers are deported? They've summarily lost their staff, as a fallout to their employee's illegal activity. What happens when they discover that their employee is here illegally? Many employers in small companies, particularly, form close relationships with their workers, coming to think of them as family.

Suddenly you are faced with the knowledge that the person you've invested yourself in, your time and money in training them, promoting them to a position of trust and responsibility, you've come to care for them, to care for their family, suddenly you learn, they are violating the law to be here. They could be taken away at any time. As an employer, you are legally responsible to not employ them. If it is discovered that you are knowingly employing someone who is here illegally, you will be held criminally liable too. So now what??

I fear he is desperate and there is more of his lawlessness to come. The election can't come soon enough. It should be impeachment, but I don't think they will do it because they are terrified of making him look like a victim of Republican shenanigans and unifying the Dems behind him. Clever man, in spite of some stumbling when the whachamacallit goes down. What concerns me greatly is the next President may have the opportunity to nominate as many as four Supreme Court Justices. Just imagine for a moment, Supreme Court Justice Eric Holder, or someone like him. Sigh. But you know, 99% of lawyers make the rest of them look bad. The problem with O is he doesn't see the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, along with the rest of the Constitution as living documents, nor the Scriptures of the Bible. And so in his pride of his own intelligence he is made a fool. Many already see this. Let's see, who comes to mind first ...

And what have we now? Amnesty. Obama seems to be shooting himself in the foot every time he turns around. Every time he makes a point of making a point, it just helps Romney in the polls. But on this issue, why is Romney so silent? We do have him on record saying to the effect that we need to work something like this out, to be able to get a handle on the situation. Romney is now strangely silent on whether or not he would repeal the EO.

Romney just came out today saying Obamas EO does not solve the immigration issue, or should be the path forward. I don't think he has condemned the action though. If your asserting that due to "the powers that be" causing these presidents to work in tandem, you are probably correct. Romney is no conservative, so it stands to reason he might continue much of what obama has done.
