PARIS (Reuters) - The historic reconciliation between Jews and Roman Catholics over the past 40 years should be extended to Muslims to deal with the challenges of the 21st century, a senior Jewish official has said.

The regular dialogue the two faiths have maintained since the Catholic Church renounced anti-Semitism at the Second Vatican Council, should be "a model for transformed relations with Islam," Rabbi Richard Marker told an interfaith conference.

Marker addressed the opening session Sunday evening of a meeting reviewing four decades of Catholic-Jewish efforts to forge closer ties after 1,900 years of Christian anti-Semitism and to ask how the dialogue can progress in the future.

"Forty years in the histories of two great world religions is but a blink of an eye," Marker, chairman of the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultation, said. "But 40 years of a relationship is a sign of its maturity."

"The focus of the world is no longer specifically on Jewish- Christian amity. We must, for so many reasons, involve the third of our Abrahamic siblings... Islam."

I'm not surprised. Of course what those "so many reasons" are, are not clear. A global papacy, Evangelical ties, relations with Jews and some organizations with Muslim roots will make this combination a force to be reckoned with. Catholics and Evangelicals have been dialoging for a number of years. You can read about it here. All claim common goals (if not spiritual) both humanitarian and political with the advent of globalization interests. I believe the catholic population is the largest in the world, followed by the Muslim and then most likely Evangelicals. Can't prove those statistics, but wouldn't be surprised if they aren't fairly accurate.

If all these world religions compromise the difference in spiritual beliefs for a greater "cause," I can't imagine the clout (for lack of a better word) they would have both world-wide and specifically Jerusalem.

Looks like it's not only the catholic church that is extending amity to Islam....

CHURCH WITH ACTS 29 NETWORK OF MARK DRISCOLL WORKS WITH HAMAS FRONT GROUP

The sound of the Islamic call to prayer echoed through this Acts 29 Network church at an Interfaith event where participants dialogued about “Jesus.” Harambee Church was so proud of that Muslim call to prayer in their facilities that they posted it on their website. Both Islamic and Christian sides declared the event a “tremendous success.”

Jesus is either Lord of ALL or He is Lord of NONE.

Evidence that the Christians are compromising. :disappointed:

A counterfeit bride for a counterfeit christ ? :cry:

1Cr 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

We're smack in the middle of the apostasy , sadly not many are willing to acknowledge that it is the Lord that has sent them this strong delusion.

They came from amongst us !

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
