Solana's Family

Postby Butterfly on Fri Dec 21, 2007 9:34 am

Farmer,
I was wondering if you know anything about who Solana's father is. The only information about him that I've seen talks about his mother and his grandfather. Why is it so quiet about his father?

Thanks,

That is certainly an interesting question.
As far as I could find about his fatherline:
His grandfather Don Ezequel Solana (a writer and schoolbook author)
is the father of four children. One of these four sons is named Francisco, a chemistry professor, and this is the only one with two sons: Luís Solana de Madariaga and Javier Solana de Madariaga.
It seems the parents did not stay together - maybe a reason why he is so quiet about him. Also it seems that he was raised by grandfather Salvadore de Madriaga and mother Nieves de Madariaga, who went to the exile in Mexico and later worked in Rome for the UN.

Thanks for the information. I still wonder if there might be more to this part of the story. Doesn't seem to be a way to find out though since he apparently doesn't want us to. Sort of makes me more curious though.
