Hi Bjorn,

Am I to understand that under the treaty of Lisbon, Javier Solana will hold the following positions:

-High Representive for Union Foreign Affairs and Security
-Secretary General of the Council of the European Union
-Vice-president of the European Commission
-Secretary-general of the Western European Union
-Overseer of the European Defense Association, European Neighbourhood Policy/Euromed & European Space projects/Galileo

If so, that is a lot of power. Please give your thoughts...
Bless you brother!

You are right...
interesting enough he has not just saying in regards of CFSP
but also in the Inner proceedings, as he named the first "Anti terror Zar"
and when this guy (guis van Vries) left he interimly took over until the new came. This was all along his ideas to move together civilian and military aspects into one force, police missions to Bosnia, Kosovo, Israel, Afghanistan and at the same time military helping at catastrophes in Europe...

Also under the Lisbon treaty he gets granted tremendous influence and voice at the UN trhough the member states there and we should not forget his global ambitions.
It would be just an understatement if we reduce his influence just to the EU.
His powers certainly exeed those of Hitler, Napoleon and Cesar and still he is keeping a low profile in public.
On Dec, 24, he received a Christmas story in a German newspaper:

Thanks for your patience! Merry Christmas!
