Geneva (Pilgrim's) Bible

Dear Holly,

How are you?

Would like to ask your opinion regarding the fact that the Geneva Bible, also known as the "Pilgrim's" Bible, has footnotes that hold that Christ fulfilled the 1st half of Daniel's 70th week, with His 3 1/2 year ministry. It seems to make sense, as in order for Christ to fulfill the fall festivals, at His 2nd coming (as He fulfilled the spring festivals. in His 1st coming), the 2nd half of Daniel's 70th week would, of necessity, need to begin on, or around a Passover.

Also, in case you may have missed some threads, would like to call the following to your attention:

1) "It also represents the first time that the forerunner of EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton, Javier Solana, has come out of the wings to challenge the newcomer." http://euobserver.com/9/31477

2) The very good doctor has signed a letter, along with other former EU leaders, that "asks ministers to set an ultimatum of April 2011 for Israel to fall into line or see the Union seek an end to the existing US-led peace talks format in favour of a UN solution." http://euobserver.com/9/31477

Also: EU may seek an end to the US-brokered peace process in favour of a UN solution:

3) Passover in 2011 falls on 4/19/11: http://world.std.com/~reinhold/jewishholidays.txt

Look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Hi Nony,

The study notes in the Geneva Bible often interpret prophecies according to a preterist framework and also a historicist framework. The interpretation of Daniel 9:27 you referred to fits within a preterist framework.

I hadn't seen the articles you linked to. I just linked to them on the front page. Thank you for bringing them to my attention.

I don't spend time trying to tie the prophecies to the Jewish festivals. I don't see anywhere in Scripture where we are told that they must be tied together, even if they have been in the past.
