I am being told that the Fulfilled Prophecy site is not secu

Postby Jay Ross on Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:22 pm

Hello,

This morning I am being told the following:

I can cut an paste a screen shot of the message I have received, but I do not know how to upload it to this site.

Here is what the message is telling me: -

Not secure www.fulfilled.com/discussion/postion.php?mode=post&f=35
Don’t’s enter any sensitive information on this site (for example, passwords or credit cards). It could be stolen by attacker.
Cookies (6 in use)
Page www.fulfilledprophecy.com
Trackers (4 blocked)

Perhaps the service provider can fix the problem.

Thanks
Jay Ross

I haven't gotten that message before, but there's been lots of problems off and on with the forum for awhile. I don't know how secure this site is, but I'm not sure it matters. There's no CC info or anything like that stored on this site. If my account was ever hacked they wouldn't get much.

If you hit the site via https rather than http, you will get that message. The reason is that the digital encryption certificate that is being presented has a different host name than www.fulfilledprophecy.com (probably the the host name of the hosting server)

The site admin would need to generate an appropriately ssl certificate with the correct host name, and link it to the www.fulfilledprophecy.com web server instance.

You can just hit the site via straight http to avoid the error, but your connection traffic won't be encrypted... Question is, do you really need it to be?
