Love is a Possession

1 Corr 13:1-3
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body [a]to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

1 Corr 13:13
13But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Luke 6:27
"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

The first two verses describe Love as a possession, something you have.
The last verse, Luke 6:27, describes love as something you do.

If one does not possess love, one cannot love. many people look for love from others instead of excising the love they have so that it grows stronger within them.

It has been my experience in life: There are those who have love, and those who do not have love.
Those who have love share it. Those who do not have love keep trying to get it from someone else.

Those who have love and share it are like a well.
The more often it is drained, the larger it becomes, and the more it can hold in reserve.

Hi Keith,

I've found that the Old Testament defines love from God very well, in the words, Jacob I have loved, Esau I have hated.

Of Esau, God says, you may build up, but I will tear down. Whatever they did, God would undo it.

Of Jacob, God promised to establish him forever.

There is one real love, God's love.

Much love!

Mark s,

Yes.

1) The Living Water is the Holy Spirit,
2) The Holy Spirit is God,
3) God is Love.

Within us, the Living Water, that is, The Holy Spirit, that is, God, that is, Love, wells up to eternal life.

Thus do people search for Love.

Amen! These are Good Food for Thoughts!
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

πατερ δοξασον σου το ονομα
Father, glorify thy name.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
