E=mc2

I just had a most interesting thought

I was thinking about the rapture and what it involves and it dawn about me that we will have a new body. If our new body can be taken up in an instant, could it be that our mass will be zero?

If that is so then by Einstein E= mc squared, there will tremendous amount of Energy released!

Perhaps then we are the very cause of the earthquake in Rev 6:12 where every mountain and island were moved out of their places... And then in Rev 7:9 a great multitude which no man can number is seen!

Interestingly, this phrase "no man can number" was a promise given to Abraham...

Interesting, there was another great earthquake mentioned... The day Jesus resurrected....

Matthew 28:2

And behold, there was a great earthquake, for the angel of The Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon it

It is read as if the angel descending and rolling back the stone caused it but I suspect it is error. I had checked the Greek and as far as I can understand it there is no clear "for" conjunction in the verse. Also, nowhere had angels whether descending or ascending caused earthquakes. Lastly, why would the movement of the stone cause an great earthquake? Nope, I think it was the resurrection of our Lord that caused the earthquake...

Hi, Keeping. You are not alone in your thinking.

http://www.earthquakeresurrection.com/#ersynopsis
SYNOPSIS: EARTHQUAKE RESURRECTION

The resurrection to immortality of:

Jesus Christ
The "many saints" of Matthew chapter 27
The two witnesses of Revelation chapter 11

What do these resurrections have in common? And what impact could it have in the future?

Have you ever questioned the traditional explanation of how the "rapture", or catching up of believers will take place? Among those who believe this teaching, it has long been believed that newscasts will suddenly flash a story that millions of people will be reported as missing all around the world. Planes will fall from the sky, accidents will occur all over the globe, and the world will be in a state of bewilderment over where everyone disappeared to.
How will it be explained? Did the "rapture" just take place? Were all the people abducted by aliens? Many theories about just how it will be explained have been advanced. But none of them made sense to me, and there was no explanation I felt comfortable with.

Until now.

Earthquake Resurrection explores the possibility that the disappearance of a large group of believers worldwide will be masked by global catastrophe. This possibility is based on a pattern found in scripture that the power unleashed when a human being is resurrected into an immortal body causes a shaking of the surrounding earth

Thanks so much, Sanderson. I had not considered even the two witnesses... And indeed, it does seem that whenever there is a mention of resurrection to a glorified body, there is an local earthquake happening. And when there is a worldwide earthquake as described in Revelation 6, it is very likely that it could be due to a worldwide resurrection event :a2:

Very interesting topic, and I would tend to agree, that the great earthquake may in fact be a result of a rapture/resurrection event.

I agree with each part, and it is very interesting indeed.
Interesting to me also, is that it is the Body that is CHANGED Instantly that Paul describes....Not a "Sudden" or "Instant" "Snatching Away" to Christ that occurs in a Moment or "twinkling of an eye'.

So to me this Is very interesting.......A Sudden "Earth Shaking" Resurrection of Bodies will occur...then a Slower assentation to Christ in the clouds.....it would be nice to enjoy the view and the ride!

Brings new meaning to Philippians 3:10

That I may know him, and the Power of His Resurrection...

That word Power is Dynamis in Greek, from which we get Dynamite.... No wonder there are arthquakes mentioned with resurrections mentioned in the bible :a3:

Hey guys, look at Ezekiel 37:7

so I prophesied as I was commanded, and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

This is from the famous Resurrection passage in Ezekiel 37.

Behold a SHAKING!

And what does the Hebrew word for shaking say? It is ra'ash...

Brown-Driver-Brigg's Definition
quaking, rattling, shaking
earthquake
quaking, trembling (of person)
shaking, quivering (of dart)

Strong's Definition

From H7493; vibration, bounding, uproar: - commotion, confused noise, earthquake, fierceness, quaking, rattling, rushing, shaking.

Or shall we say...

Behold, an earthquake!

I am probably getting ahead of myself but I continued reading... After Ezekiel 37 comes Ezekiel 38...

And then to one of the most enigmatic prophetic passages in the bible, where it says in verse 11 describing Israel as "the land of unwalled villages"

We have been wondering how can Israel which now stands as one of the most walled countries in the world, be described as being "unwalled"?

I now think a giant earthquake might do it...

In fact, verse 11 says the state of Israel is "without walls, and having NEITHER BARS NOR GATES"

I can't think of any event that can cause Israel to have no walls, bars or gátes... Except a great big earthquake...

And that's why verse 10 says "thou shall think an evil thought"... How evil can it be to strike when a country is in a humanitarian disaster?

And then verse 19 onwards sure does feel like a summary of the scene from the Book of Revelation... And it starts with "a great shaking" or in the NAS version "a great earthquake"

I agree Shortribber! I don't like "sudden drops/uplifts". Do NOT put me on a rollercoaster or I will cry like a little baby! I would appreciate a slower ascension as well.

How interesting!
