Something I found in my Bible reading today:

Postby MChat on Thu Jul 27, 2006 10:40 pm

I forget what thread it was but someone essentially asked if God would destroy the United States (If it is Babylon) with the saints in it. Today I came across this in my daily reading:

Ezekiel 14:12-20 wrote:The word of the LORD came again to me, saying: “Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord GOD.

“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, even though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be desolate.

“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land,’ and I cut off man and beast from it, even though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves would be delivered.

“Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out My fury on it in blood, and cut off from it man and beast, even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.”

For about half a century (or more?) now, the United States as a nation has been removing God from it's foundation. Just look at the news, we've become "a land which sins against the Lord by persistent unfaithfulness," a wicked nation with a perverse lifestyle. No doubt if the U.S. is Babylon, it deserves its coming Judgement.

As for us, are we righteous enough to be delivered? I know we are to be judged (at the end) according to Christ's righteousness, thereby redeemed by His blood; but what about while we're still on this earth?

Hey man, I wrote somthing in regardes to this back in 2004 on my blog. You might find it interesting as we're on the same wave length in regardes to this bit of scripture. Here's a rough draft, I was'nt really big on puncuation, or grammar, as you can probable tell I'm still not.

---------

Gods Nations, Gods People and how to Survive the Comming Fire.
America is a Nation which is practicly repeating the Biblical History of Israel. In more ways then one. God has blessed them openly for the entire World to see, but what does God tell us about how he handles His blessed Nations when they look the other way? One could assume he would do the same as he did to the Israelites and that their History is recorded for good reason. So that we might understand God's Character on these types of matters and not make the same mistakes twice. Would assuming there is a connection be taking these Scriptures out of context? Or is it possible we may not be wrong in making these connections? Taking a look at the Biblical History of the Israelites could teach so called "Christian Nations" a thing or two, about the do's and donts and what happens when they refuse correction.

If we feel we should'nt make the connection between Israels experiences and Americas, We eventually find Scriptures which make the connection regardless of how we personaly feel. We learn that God treats his Nations the same way he treated Israel, when they turn from Him.

Jer 12:15 But later, I will have pity on these nations and bring them back to their own lands. Jer 12:16 They once taught my people to worship Baal. But if they admit I am the only true God, and if they let my people teach them how to worship me, these nations will also become my people. Jer 12:17 However, if they don't listen to me, I will uproot them from their lands and completely destroy them. I, the LORD, have spoken.

What does this mean? You decide. As far as Scripture is concerned it's pretty clear where we are headed. And it is all relative to the fulfillments of Prophecy we have been witnessing and are continuing to witness. See, We cannot change this because it is part of Gods plan, which he was kind enough to fill us in on. More proof that God's hand is at work and more proof his Words continue to be true. If we have a clear understanding of Scripture we relize these things have to happen, that all the Nations will eventually turn away and be destroyed. We are charged to be faithful and keep our eyes on the big picture! Stay fixed on Gods purpose for our lives and not our own which is only of this dying world, in which even the "better" Nations are about to be destroyed because they look the other way.

Sound Scary? Hold on, there is still hope.

A brief look at how God handles Sinful Nations

Eze 14:13 Ezekiel, son of man, suppose an entire nation sins against me, and I punish it by destroying the crops and letting its people and livestock starve to death.

Eze 14:14 Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were living in that nation, their faithfulness would not save anyone but themselves.

Eze 14:15 Or suppose I punish a nation by sending wild animals to eat people and scare away every passerby, so that the land becomes a barren desert.

Eze 14:16 As surely as I live, I promise that even if these three men lived in that nation, their own children would not be spared. The three men would live, but the land would be an empty desert.

Eze 14:17 Or suppose I send an enemy to attack a sinful nation and kill its people and livestock.

Eze 14:18 If these three men were in that nation when I punished it, not even their children would be spared. Only the three men would live.

Eze 14:19 And suppose I am so angry that I send a deadly disease to wipe out the people and livestock of a sinful nation.

Eze 14:20 Again, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were living there, I, the LORD, promise that the children of these faithful men would also die. Only the three of them would be spared.

Eze 14:21 I am the LORD God, and I promise to punish Jerusalem severely. I will send war, starvation, wild animals, and deadly disease to slaughter its people and livestock.

Eze 14:22 And those who survive will be taken from their country and led here to Babylonia. Ezekiel, when you see how sinful they are, you will know why I did all these things to Jerusalem.

Eze 14:23 You will be convinced that I, the LORD God, was right in doing what I did.

Who was spaired? The Faithful!

Jude 1In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire

We learn more about Sin from the Gospel of John
1Jo 5:16 Suppose you see one of our people commit a sin that isn't a deadly sin. You can pray, and that person will be given eternal life. But the sin must not be one that is deadly.
1Jo 5:17 Everything that is wrong is sin, but not all sins are deadly.
1Jo 3:4 Everyone who sins breaks God's law, because sin is the same as breaking God's law.
1Jo 3:5 You know that Christ came to take away sins. He isn't sinful, 1Jo 3:6 and people who stay one in their hearts with him won't keep on sinning. If they do keep on sinning, they don't know Christ, and they have never seen him.
1Jo 3:9 God's children cannot keep on being sinful. His life-giving power lives in them and makes them his children, so that they cannot keep on sinning.
1Jo 3:10 You can tell God's children from the devil's children, because those who belong to the devil refuse to do right or to love each other.

In closing, None of these Nations will turn around as a whole and look to the One who made them all they are. Why? Because the Word of God does'nt support the idea. It tells us what to expect because of this turning away and it is Gods Words becomming Reality. It is too late for the Nations but not for many of the people in them. You can be like Daniel, Job and Noah who by Faith were saved.

The quality explained after naming these three Men, the quality which leads to them being saved is'nt Righteousness, or Holiness, it is Faithfulness!

If you make the decision to simply trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and seek him out he will save you just as he saves all the Faithful.

"These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

Being Holy and Righteous are'nt Soul saving qualitys, Faithfulness is. Holiness and Righteousness are the end result of Faith in God, and his Son.

I thought this exact thing just the other day.

James wrote:The quality explained after naming these three Men, the quality which leads to them being saved is'nt Righteousness, or Holiness, it is Faithfulness!

What translation is that? I looked up several different translations (KVJ, NKJV, NIV, NASB) and they all said "righteousness" not "faithfulness."

That goes for all nations..mankind has in general disassociated itself with the God of Isaac and Jacob, the one tru God. It seems to me that when God is speaking about the destruction of isreal it coincides with all nations who continue to live against the word. Ezekiel is such a powerful book in its own respect. very interesting.

Hey, Mchat if you read any translation you see that righteousness is Gods alone, and is only available to us through faith in Jesus Christ.

I did write that a while back, but I believe my assumption was based on the fact that faith in God is what leads to a mans righteousness.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Prov 28:12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden

Isa 16:4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

Ps 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
