sick relative

sick relative

Postby staticstorm on Thu Jul 14, 2005 11:58 am

an older relative of mine was recently told by her doctor that she either has pneumonia or lung cancer. Aside from the doctor not showing much tact or bedside manner since he doesnt know for sure until more tests are run, my aunt is obviously quite stressed.

just got a call from the hospital that she is in 'very poor' health. Hospitals dont call relatives at 10pm over a cough... not sure what is going on yet.

She died just a few minutes ago. She was in good health a few weeks ago, and was just admitted to the hospital 5 days ago with a bad cough.

When the nurses / doctors started to notice her taking a bad turn, the nurses commented that they tried talking to her, but she was all muddled up, and incoherent. However, the nurse mentioned that the last time she tried speaking to my aunt, she asked her how she was doing. In the only coherent moment of the last few hours, my aunt looked up at her and recited the 23rd Psalm. Her last spoken words were scripture. She then slipped back into unconsciousness and as I said, died a few minutes ago. She was a Godly woman all her life, and is now in the presence of Christ.

Thankyou for your prayers.

Wow. Times you'd like to slap someone upside the head...

A distant relative called up my parents today. She asked if there would be a reading of the will to the family members after the funeral...(doesn't that only happen in movies??). She also mentioned that my aunt had some nice clothing, and was wondering if she could have it, instead of us just giving it to a charity. She then asked if she'd be able to spend a couple nights in my aunt's apartment starting tonight.

My aunt is not even in the ground yet. I cannot believe these vultures. Needless to say, my parents are going to my aunts apartment tonight to clear out all her jewlerly and anything else of value to hold onto, until we know what my aunts will is for all her possessions.

Unbelievable.
