I'm pretty steamed lately.

I'm pretty steamed lately.

Postby mouserpg88 on Tue Jun 21, 2005 11:40 pm

Lately, I don't feel very happy at all. Just moody, depressed and aggravated. I'm cursing randomly, and I'm about to start cursing at some people who aggravate me.

One guy told me that God hated me, I ignored it for about a week. Later on, I caught him talking about things that shouldn't be discussed in public. I really went off on that guy... it was just no mercy for him. While I didn't go right out and insult him, I felt like I was being really angry with him as I talked. He called me a religious extremist and a freak, I told him about God's laws, how he's breaking them, which is punishable by hellfire, and that he's going to end up there unless he repents and turns to God and believes in Jesus.

He called me a bunch of names, poked fun at me, etc... but I could tell he was pretty upset. I was like "What's the matter, you're offended? Oh yeah, the Gospel is meant to be offensive." It just felt like I had a huge club in my hand and I was beating him senseless with it.

In the end, he could say nothing. I've never really felt that way before... it was as if everything I said cut down every argument he had against me and made him look like a colossal fool. Finally, he gave up and started acting foolish.

Meh... I've probably messed that up. =/

Mouser,
You reminded me of some of David's Psalms with your passion and anxiety (which seems too tame a word). I've found it healing/releasing to pick some of his Psalms and rewrite them in my feelings and what I perceive to be the cause of those feelings as my prayer to God.

I have prayed that God will open the man's ears to His truth that he needs to hear and that anything God doesn't want there is removed from the man's thoughts.

I'm reading a book by Dave Crowder (the musician) and today he reminded me that, yes, God is a God of love, but He's also a God of immeasurable, unlimited power and passion. God is GOD.
Praying for ya mouser.....I'm in a similar boat, just when I think things can't get any worse they do but I know God isn't going to give me more than I can handle. Praying that God will annoint you with His serenity as is in my daily prayer or when times get tough I tend to repeat it over and over:

God, Grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference, just for today. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Peace and Blessings,
As usual, the Lord can be counted on. He has delivered me from this situation a few days ago. I already feel much better.
