somebody badly needs prayer

somebody badly needs prayer

Postby mouserpg88 on Fri Jun 17, 2005 9:31 pm

I was talking to a random person, I felt the need to ask him "Why?" when he said he was drunk, we got into a discussion. He said he believes in God and Jesus is OUR Saviour. When he told me why he got drunk (his girlfriend got a promotion at her job), I asked "Why celebrate something good with something bad?".

When we continued to talk, he said he wished he never got into drugs, said he wish he didn't get drunk, and that he has to think about his life and that his friends got him into that stuff by peer pressure. He totally opened up, said he hasn't prayed or gone to church in ages.

He said he wants to break free, but we all know he can't do it. However, there's someone who can. That someone is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please pray for his delivery from these terrible things.

Edited by: mouserpg88 at: 6/18/05 12:33 am

mouserpg.......I don't know if it's in any of the threads or not but I'm in recovery from all types of addictions. The best thing to ask this person is if he can give it up for one day. And then tomorrow ask God's help to make it through another day. Then at the end of those two days, 48 hours will have went by...add another day, 72 hours, etc.......but prayer on his sake and for his sake are definitely needed. Addictions are difficult to overcome unless there is a genuine sincerity in the person's heart to want to change and sometimes a life threatening situation has to occur before a person is willing to surrender to their addictions. Oh, one other thing...tell your friend to pray in the morning for guidance and the power to carry it out along with asking God's help to not want that urge...just for one day...and then at night be sure to return thanks for the day he was blessed in........
