broken arm

broken arm

Postby Resurrection Torchlight on Mon Jun 21, 2021 7:20 am

Hi All

Four weeks ago I broke my arm when I slipped and fell while working in my backyard. I had surgery to repair it with a plate and screws. It appears to be healing well, except that I have some nerve damage in my thumb and palm, either from surgery itself or from the nerve blocker I received as anesthetic. The doctor said it was normal for many to have this issue after surgery and that it should eventually heal on its own. It is very uncomfortable when touched and makes it very difficult to use my thumb and wearing the brace is uncomfortable as well since it presses on the affected areas.

Please pray that the Lord would speed the healing to these nerves and that I would get full use of my hand and arm back quickly.

Thank you

RT, I am so sorry to hear about your arm. I had a broken foot several years back and to this day, when the weather is just right it still aches!
I Pray that you regain full use and feeling as you heal. :praying: :praying: :praying:

Wanted to thank all of you who prayed, got a clean bill of health from my orthopedic surgeon. Still have nerve sensitivity, it waxes and wanes but is slowly improving. Now it's all about getting strength and flexibility back.

Thank you all, I credit your prayers to my very low level of pain throughout.

God bless you!

Stacey, this is a wonderful report! It was an awful looking break and isn't it amazing how incredible our human bodies are to mend and repair themselves with a little help from our doctors and a lot of help from our Creator? Glad you have healed so beautifully! Back to the garden !!!!

Just want to update

The Neuropathy has improved significantly especially in my thumb, it's almost gone. Still having some discomfort in my palm and where the incision was. Also my hand is still very stiff and swells often with use.

I suspect that this is all just part of the normal healing process and will take time. However I know that your prayers have helped, I am growing stronger with each day and the pain is getting less. I am able to do most things with my hand/arm, though some movements are still difficult.

Thank you all for your prayers!
