To Laura and Shanna,

I have been wanting to post this, but it took me a while to get the graphic I wanted. Back in WWII my Dad was in the Marines. As I am sure you both know the Marine motto is "semper fidelis", "semper fi!", as the cry goes, which means "always faithful". When my Dad passed away in '92 that is what I put on his head stone, Semper Fidelis....Always Faithful. A lot of people have been in the Marine Corps, but there aren't many that have lived up to that motto their whole lives. He did. He spent a lot of time helping others and taking care of his family. I thought about Jesus and if he had a motto it would also be semper fidelis. He is always faithful to us even if we aren't to him.

Back in WWII there was a thing called a "Mother's Pin". It was a little pin with a star on it. For each son you had in the service, you would have a star on your pin. Moms could wear these proudly and folks would know that you as a Mom were special to this country. You had given something way above time and money. My Grandma had a pin with three little stars as my Dad and his two brothers were in the service. I still have those pins at home. I found a pin for each of you two to wear, even if it is only on your computer screen.
