I chose 21st Century Human many moons ago for the direct meaning of shedding the old, corrupt ways of modern man like his predjudice, bigotry, faults, selfsihness, anger and etc etc that man seems to thrive off to become a man of this new and trying-on-the-mind-and-heart century. Thus in oder to culminate new and improved 21st Century solutions to our ailing hearts. Blah Blah...it really doesn't matter unless we have Jesus...then we can slip out of the whirlpool that brings history into the present day.<br>

Moses: To teach His Precepts (The Bible), His Way (Holy Ghost Led Life), His Law (rejecting religious nonsense that's been taught for centuries--the traditions of men both Judaic and Gentile), and His Holiness. To preach that we are called to have an INTIMATE, personal and REAL (The Tabernacle of Meeting) relationship with YHWH, that each Believer is to speak to Him Face to face, Mouth to mouth, and to walk and talk with Him, not just "belong to a religious movement."<br>
<br>
Joshua: To possess the land by Faith, to enter in bodly and not draw back. Healing, Prosperity, Victory are given to us (paid for) by His Shed Blood on the Cross. Thus the Father WANTS us to rise up and possess His Gifts through spiritual warfare with the powers of darkness; we are to learn to enforce Satan's defeat via the Cross, the Power of Faith, and the Gifts of the Spirit.<br>
<br>
John: Beloved. To teach that all Believers are to LOVE our Holy Father and His Son, and to walk in that family relationship without compromise. He loves you; learn to love, and walk in love, with Him.<br>
<br>
Nehemiah: Holy Ghost led. To rebuild the wall (the Holy Ghost led life in Believers) and re-establish the true authority and rights of His Children in this world. To re-establish the Word (Bible) as it truly is, to re-establish the Believers in leading a Holy Ghost led life, to prepare the Believers for the hour of trial and the Return of our King.<br>
<br>
All these things YHWH spoke to me in a vision, and said that is what He has named me, that is who I am.<br>
<br>
Enter into His Presence and find out who YOU are...<br>
<br>
<br>
Blessings in the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach ben YHWH.<br>

My internet name was a name that I came up with when I rolled up a character for Dungeons and Dragons. It was a Firenewt that had Psionic abilities, and other multi-classes.<br>
<br>
I didn't figure the character would turn into much, he was short and kind of ugly.<br>
<br>
But after playing a few games he turned out to be not only fun to play, but the talk of the group.<br>
<br>
He brought me a bit of joy for a season.<br>

Postby DE438 on Sat Dec 03, 2005 10:08 pm

DE438 is my name here; it is the number of the Destroyer-Escort I served on during WW2. USS Corbesier. The navy built 563 of these ships before the war was over. They were anti-submarine ships and did miles and miles of "pinging" for subs. We left Norfolk on June 5th, 1944, escorted the Starlight, a ship loaded with Marines; to Pearl Harbor. Went thru the Panama Canal on June 12th, arrived at Pearl on June 26th.<br>
We didn't see a lot of action, the worst was in Leyte Bay, Philippines, Nov. 17-19, 1944. Helped find and sink the I48 a IJN sub; another ship made the actual kill. Near Yap Island. <br>
Involved in the Okinawa operation and was there the night the war ended. Made three trips up to Japan, Nagasaki and sasebo and on the third got orders to return to the states. Left sasebo on October 20th arrived San Diego on Nov. 5th, 1945. There were about 200 Officers and men on that little ship. 306 feet long, 36 feet wide, 1600 tons. Yet there were several men I never spoke to in that time. Life is so regimented on a wartime ship that you are where you are supposed to be every minute of the day or night. Very little roaming about. You stand two four hour watches, day and night. You work in off watch time. You have a battle station and when the GQ alarm sounds you run to it, even if you are asleep. It is a tight situation, 24/7. We visited islands during escort services; Manus, Admiralty Islands; Guam, Saipan, Midway, Leyte, Palu, Ulithi Atoll, where the Navy had about 1500 ships ready to invade the Philippines. We anchored at night when we first went to Ukithi; next morning saw 8 Battleships surrounding us, about 10 AM they requested that we move out. I went aboard just after my 18th birthday and I left her just after my 20 birthday; greatest adventure I ever had. We called her the "Bessie", each year a few of us get together in reuion. I'll be 80 in February, life has past quickly. <p></p><i></i>

You say you were on a ship that went to Okinawa when Japan surrendered. I did some work for a man named Joe Landry who also was on a ship that went through the port at Okinawa at that time.<br>
I remember him telling me about it because I had been praying for his salvation and one day he told me the story of how strange it felt when at the end of the war their ship began closing in more and more on that city. Japan had surrendered but all the men on the ship were tense, not certain of what to expect from their crafty enemy.<br>
<br>
I told him that, in the same way he felt strange because he didn't know what to expect at the end of the war there in Okinawa, the same would be true at the end of his life, if he didn't make certain his salvation through Jesus Christ. I said, you won't know what to expect as you are living now, but if you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, have your sins forgiven, you will be born again and you will know what to expect when you die. I wanted to lead him in a sinner's prayer, but he said he believed in Jesus. I know he didn't know Him because of the way he cursed and the because of the programs he watched on TV.<br>

Do you know Joe Landry? God bless, SCB <p></p><i></i>

God being faithful and merciful towards me, took me through my life (some good, some bad-very bad) and eventually showed me how his grace on my life has saved me.<br>

Postby Bob the Quiet on Mon Feb 27, 2006 7:03 pm

Bob the Quiet<br>
<br>
Well, first of all my real name is Robert, so Bob is actually my name then. But why Bob the Quiet?<br>
<br>
Well I used to call myself "Silent Bob" after the Kevin Smith character (Jay & Silent Bob) as Silent Bob was my favorite character in his movies due to his silence and they way he talkes when would speak. However, I eventually came to the conclusion that, as a Christian, it is not a good thing for me to enjoy watching such morally bankrupt and often blasphemous movies. So, while I still liked the name, I no longer wanted to associate myself with those movies and I couldn't keep calling myself Silent Bob without associating with Kevin Smith's movies.<br>
<br>
Another thing is that, in real life I actually am generally very quiet and some people have described talking to me as 'talking to a brick wall' because of how quiet I usually am, so I identify with the name.<br>
<br>
Anyhow, so, since I really am a 'silent' person, I asked myself what is another word for silent? why! Quiet of course!<br>
<br>
So I took to calling myself Bob the Quiet <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p>~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~<br>

Postby Test4echo on Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:32 am

My old explanation... :D

I'm glad i finally get to use my Nick as intended....
---------------------------------------------------------------

I know most people associate my Nick to the band Rush.
Fact of the matter is I had this name LONG before Rush came out with thier album Test4echo.

The Nick really came to being because I'm a computer geek and while studying the intricacies of TCP/IP I liked the fact that Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) sends a series of "ECHOS" and "REPLIES" to confirm checksums over the Internet to ensure correct data.

Thus TEST4ECHO came into being.

i had to add the 101 only here cause I flubbed my first attemp at registering.
( Finally 3 years later I fixed it)....... :D

I've had this nick for over 12 years, way back in the old Prodigy BBS days.

Then Rush came along and stole it from me.....lol (just kidding)

bye,

test,

My previous username was Gracewings with the connotation that I have 'grace' under 'His wings'.

St Patrick's Day had me thinking recently of my wee bit of Irish roots. When my mother came to visit we went to an Irish museum in Phoenix, there I saw that my given name Regina translates Riona.

Hmm, I wonder...if I could get 'gracewings' as a title under my username?

Regina, I did a little search and found something you could put under your name, an avitar. I found two that I thought were appropriate...one is the obvious and the other is a famous picture called Wings of Grace. Just a thought.

This is a neat thread....my daddy named me DeLila after his mother who died shortly after his birth. His grandfather, it seems, could not spell,but liked the name Delilah so it was passed on to me.

I should have come up with a better name for this, but I was in a hurry to get in here.

I am not a Delilah.... :grin: but I have cut my husband's hair :lol:

When attempting to come up with a name fitting this community
what came to mind is the first comment I have always made
whenever anyone has questioned the existance of God.

my first name is sam...but my full name is samuel. I've never been called that by anyone but my mother, but once I realized I was eliminating "God" from my name (El) I thought I should start using my full first name. Nice thought, but the truth is I haven't quite followed through yet. Old habits die hard. Laban is my middle name. weird, huh? Nice of my non-practicing jewish mother to pull that one out. Apparently it is a jewish custom to name a child using the same initial as a recently deceased relative. My grandmother Lillian died shortly before I was born so they needed an "L" name and Laban it was. Though Laban was not exactly your quintessential man of faith from the bible, I take comfort in it's meaning - white - when I think of how Jesus took our sins of scarlet and made them white as snow. So there you have it, Samuel Laban. I was pretty confident it wouldn't be taken!

quiverfullmom came about because I used to belong to an internet message board called quiverfull digest. It's a board for those who choose to receive all the children God wants to bless them with. No birth control. Ten years ago when we decided to let go and let God it was a scary thing. Now it's just a way of life. Though everyday is an exercise in trusting Him. He's never let me down. BTW I have 6 kids, 13,10,8,6,4,2,and one on the way, with 2 playing at Jesus feet. And I'm only 34! Plenty of time left for more blessings, if Jesus tarries! :grin:

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5
