Peace Treaty

How do we determine if Israel signs a peace treaty with the EU is THE peace treaty (as prophecied in Scripture) with the AC? Also will that peace treaty trigger the 7 yr tribulation? Thank you. <p></p><i></i>

First thing is there is no such thing as a 7 year tribulation. The tribulation begins at the abomination of desolation and ends at some point before Jesus appears in the clouds. See Matthew 24.<br>
<br>
I'm not so sure the 7 year peace treaty will be obvious since Jesus and Paul told us to look for the abomination of desolation.<br>
<br>
However, I truly believe that there is a very good chance that the midpoint of the 7 years, when the 2 witnesses appear and when the Antichrist puts a stop to sacrifice, will be Passover. The Jews look for Elijah to appear on Passover and we know the 2 witnesses prophesy for 1260 days during the 2nd half of the 7 years. Also what a perfect time to put a stop to sacrifice and show yourself "as God."<br>

So....1260 days before Passover falls around October or November so if there is a peace treaty around that time then I will be pretty convinced. And especially if it deals with rebuilding the temple and if there seems to be peace during the next 3.5 years. <br>

This doesn't mean that I keep my eyes closed the rest of the year.<br>

After reading your thoughts about Passover, I realized that the date of October, 2004 is when Solana's term in office ends. This seems to coincide with your estimated timeline of the signing. Do you think there's a connection here? I remember Herb mentioning that Solana may use this peace treaty to possibly extend, or even increase his position in power. I can't seem to find the commentary though, but he may have discussed it on our board. <br>
This is also a time period when we will be electing our president. Very interesting! I think it is possible that if John Kerry gets office, he will hand our U.S sovereignty over to the E.U. He has made this indication by stating his vision of th U.N having control of our military. Scary. <br>
It appears that within this period of time, three important roads converge. <br>
One other (if remote) possibility:<br>
Solana steps down quietly, making way for the actual AC who has been in waiting while Solana was making the necessary preparations. <br>
The peace agreement is signed, the new U.S administration makes a major move in the conquest of the New World Order, and the world begins counting down it's final 7 years.<br>
At this point, my mind is open to any possibility.<br>

If Kerry is elected he wouldn't take office until the end of January.<br>

I'm more interested in next October-November especially if there is a Palestinian state by then. <p></p><i></i>

Remember, in scripture we are not commanded to look for the signing of a peace treaty, but for the abomination of desolation. In Matthew 24, we are told, WHEN YOU SEE ... the abomination of desolation. In II Thessalonians 2 we are told to look for the antichrist sitting in the temple proclaiming himself to be God.<br>

There may be several treaties. We may be wondering which one is "the" treaty. When we see the abomination of desolation, then we'll know. I'm not sure if Christians will be aware that the timeclock on Daniel's seventieth week is ticking again. But I know that we will know when we see the A of D.<br>

To sum up, I don't know if we will know the beginning of the week, but we sure will know the midpoint.<br>

in another thread I had asked about the sorrows and seals. <br>

Jesus tells us about the sorrows as in wars, pestilences and such and be not afraid for the end is not yet.<br>
Ok, since 1900 we have seen a major increase in all of these including the increase of knowledge and traveling to and fro as scripture puts it. During the cold war or especially since Hiroshima and Nagasaki the world in general has been living in a state of fear about nukes. But as you can see, things went on as usual.<br>
Now, since the first Gulf war I have noticed a serious increase in crime, diseases, a complete breakdown of morality, a serious increase in christian persecution on all levels but especially in the 10/40 window or third world areas, tribes against tribes. all kinds of wars and such, signs in the heavens like close planetary events, solar flares, hailstones forming out of thin air...etc.<br>
And for example I went to google world news this morning and I gasped! It hit me with force that everytime I look at a search engines world news list lately it is long and full of everything aweful thing you can imagine. and now we have a new strain of mad cow, bird flu has encompassed all of asia it appears and that is the tip of the iceberg.<br>
Now having said all that, these things are enough to make anyone faint with fear of what is coming on the world. Or have we become desenitized by all this and not really seeing what is taking place?<br>
Now, if you all are saying that the first seal is the AC who will kick off the rest of the seals. Yet someone thought the great trib kicks off at the fifth seal...<br>
I find here a conundrum...<br>
1. why is the rider of the first seal a human person and the rest of the riders spirits?<br>
2. how is it we can expect relative peace for 3.5 years before the AC stands in the holy place when the sorrows are taking place? <br>
In reading Mt.24, right after Jesus tells us about the sorrows or birth pangs he then says we will be persecuted and killed, betrayed. False prophets will arise and lead many astray, lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. BUT the one who endures to the end will be saved!<br>
The world will hear the gospel and THEN the AOD appears.<br>
This sure seems to me to be exactly what Paul, Peter and the others describe and resembles the first three seals for sure.<br>
So finally this begs this question:<br>
Does the AC immediatly go after the saints and Jews when he sits in the holyplace? Is that when the world is saying 'peace and safety' 'age of aquarius' stuff then sudden destruction?<br>

Just a couple of quick, but to the point comments. I agree about the pestilences. It is amazing what we see in the news and the accuracy of Jesus' words.<br>

The cry of peace and safety could go either way with me. Two scenarios, one being that the cry of peace and safety is the signing of a peace treaty. Everybody will be saying, hey it's okay. We've got a world wide peace treaty. Then three and one half years later, sudden destruction.<br>

Or, as the antichrist is demanding the world to sign up for the religion that proclaims him alone as god of this world, the cry could be "enjoy peace and safety in the new world order". "Take the mark of the new saviour". Then sudden destruction at the day of the LORD when Christ returns to pour out His wrath. This would explain the reference to the day of the LORD in the passage (I Thessalonians 5). <br>

Why do you presuppose the facts in this question? Can you explain, because I've never heard this idea before and am interested.<br>

Ok, then if the first rider is a man then who are the other riders? see the problem?<br>
Now I have also heard some say the fourth horseman, death with hades following behind is the AC and the False prophet.<br>
But again, who then are the others? <br>

I have been thinking alot the last few days about the "covenant with the many" and am becoming more and more convinced in my spirit that it will probably be the bringing of Israel and Palestine into the extended EU. Why? Well for two reasons I guess, <br>

Number 1: the wording of the verse. Why not "covenant with Israel" or "your people" ? why "the many" could this be an allusion to the covenant including more than just Israel such as all the nations of the EU? <br>
<br>
Number 2: If we are indeed living in these end times and watching prophecy unfold, it sure has been subtle to say the least. Why else do so many Christians miss it? I mean who ever thought that a document could be behind the number of the beast?, yet here we have a document giving one man extraordinary military power. His coming to power just seems so quiet and unassuming, sush a subtle rise to power. And so why not a simple inclusion into the EU as the beginning of the 7th week. Seems like such a subtle way to start it. To the world at large it would seem the natural step to creating an environment of peace in the Middle East-bringing those warring nations into the EU but to us well, I sure would be on the edge of my seat.<br>
