RE: Four-headed leopard

I am pretty sure that this four-headed beasts symbolizes the four divisions of the Greek empire also depicted as the belly and thighs of bronze of the symbolic statue of empires of Daniel 2:30-44. The king Xerxes reigned of the greek empire, and then this authority was passed down to four generals, thus dividing this empire into four kingdoms. If you are talking about the four-headed leopard in Daniel 7:6 the you can backtrack to Daniel 7:1 and read through to Dan. 7:8 and see where each of these beasts relate to each empire of the statue.
Example: Dan. 7:4 The 1st like a lion w/ eagles wings made to stand on two feet relates to the head of gold on the statue which describes the Babylonian empire of Nebuchadnezzar. Hope this helps,
Four-headed leopard

Postby WatchYeTherefore on Thu Feb 05, 2004 10:55 am

1withJesus posted the most common interpretation. But there is another one that I read recently, and it makes some sense to me.

Daniel 7:4-7 4) The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. 5) And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Aris, devour much flesh. 6)After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. 7)After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Meaning:
4) The lion is the symbol of Great Britain, and the eagle's wings being plucked surely looks like the United States.

5) Russia is often symbolized as the great bear -- in newspapers, cartoons, and news magazines like Time. Russia raised itself up on the north side of Israel to "devour much flesh". And that they did, but there were three Baltic countries that were swallowed up by the bear in 1940 -- Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. They could be the three ribs.

6) The leopard could be Germany. The four wings could represent the four reichs. Hitler was the thrid reich -- the fourth one is rising as Germany becomes stronger.
OR
The leopard could be an Arab coalition. The sphinx is the symbol of Egypt, and fits the description of a leopard. Looking at a map, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia are attached to Egypt as "wings".

7)The fourth beast is the 10 nation confederacy of the Antichrist

The main reason why I don't believe this passage of Daniel refers to ancient kingdoms is:

Rev 13:1-2 1) And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2) And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

This verse shows the 4 beasts of Daniel 7:4-7 now incorporated into one beast. I believe the four beasts are part of the 10 nation confederacy of the Antichrist, tho I haven't done a lot of studying and research on this.

Also, note that the "wings from Daniel are not mentioned in the Revelation verse. It this view is correct, what does that mean for the United States? Are they out of the picture? Isolated? Devasted by WWIII?

This view is expressed by several prophecy teachers, e.g.:

Endtime Ministries, Irwin Baxter www.endtime.com -- don't agree with all his views, but has some very insightful material.

The Open Door, Lyn Mize www.thefirstfruits.org -- don't know much about him; just read the one article on the beasts.
