Speaking the truth in love

Speaking the truth in love...what is it? How does one do this?

Was Jesus speaking the "truth in love" when He told the Pharisees they were tombstones?

How about Peter when he spoke to Ananias and Sapphira?

I think we confuse Speaking the truth in love with not offending someone.

I think when we stand before Jesus, after we get up off the ground from the awe of Him, we will be dismayed at how we didn't do what we should have done.

Speaking the truth in love...what is it? How does one do this?

This has been an agonizing in deed painful subject for me over the last few years as I have watched my daughter slip into a world of complete rebellion and hatred toward us and anything associated with God. coupled with the declining morality in today's culture and the limited acknowledgement of any real sin. it becomes more and more difficult to perform the command as stated in the scripture you mentioned.

The solution however, is relatively simple, and in fact for a christian should be, "AS PLAIN AS THE NOSE ON OUR FACE" as it were. and that is speaking only scripture when dealing with a moral, or sensitive subject, which of course requires us to have a better than basic knowledge, and memorization of scripture.

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) — "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. "

The problem I have had in the past, and continue to struggle with, Is allowing personal Opinion, emotion or commentary, to enter into what I am trying to say. this becomes more difficult as the subject we/I are speaking to or about is close to our heart.

what I find works best for me, is if I know that I am going to have to face, speak out, or deal with an issue that is close to my heart or emotional concern, I spend some time contemplating Gods word on the subject keeping it in prayer and reflecting how my words MUST BRING GLORY TO GOD. the longer (within reason) I have to do this the better! But sometimes we must confront at the spur of the moment, but even then a brief under the breath prayer and reflection of what GOD word may say can and is a huge benefit.

Jam 1:19 (NASB) — "*This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;"

GOD-BLESS,

THE BATTLE RAGES TIL THE LION SOON ROARS,
