I don't mean to sound dubious, but have any of these solar flares come to anything? It just seems like Nasa tries to hype everything to stay relevant and keep people interested in space. Like every planet discovered nowadays is suddenly "earth-like" and "may" support life.

Yikes. EMP? I have been reading a new ebook, wrath and righteousness.....in my late night, sleepless (or could it be the book keeping me up )...anyway, I know the USA suffers an EMP event in this book.....even though the book is fiction, I can never fully relax about the subject...it would be easy enou and make such a dramatic impact on our nation....

Hi Hisown: I had no idea he was a mormon writer. The book is fiction and I read the first installment of what is to be something like 10 installments over the next 12 months (he releases a chapter at a time over the next year). I decided last night, as I finished up the first chapter, that I would not be buying the rest of the chapters (I got the first one free). I just didn't get into the first chapter too good, and by the time the next one comes out, I will have long forgotten my place in the last chapter. The first chapter was a lot of setting up of the characters, IMO.

My main reason for wanting to read this book was because of the EMP attack in it....I like to read books where the authors have thoughtfully looked at EMP and then discuss what the landscape may look like in the event it has happened. In my mind it helps me mentally prepare for some of the challenges that will be present in such an event. It's purely folly......as the Lord will provide for whom He deems worthy to escape all these things. (Luke 21: 36)

The greater issue, in my mind (as I am not a mormon, would agree that those who participate are deceived, and would never try to get my "right division of the Word" from a mormon)....the greater issue, for me personally, is the EMP. I cannot shake the feeling that in our lifetime, this is going to be a reality in the upcoming wars. My goal is to be prepared for the eventuality of such an attack in the best, and most practical ways possible. That is why I chose to read this fiction writing, having no knowledge of the writer, his background, or his faith. I want the goods on the EMP....That said, I don't have the patience, or the will, to buy the remaining deposits of the book, so it's a foregone conclusion that I won't get whatever it is he is "selling."

are having visions like this. There is something about the EMP that bothers me and has for several years. I have always had a sense of urgency with it and felt that I needed to be prepared to see it take place within our borders, here in the US.
