What is God Saying for 2009 — What the Apostle Paul Thinks

An advertisement selling prophecies from a recent ElijahList conference.

Some people are shameless. Take this for example: for just $53.99, you can find out what God wants you to know for 2009. Act now — the 10 percent discount ends at midnight on Feb. 28!

What am I talking about? The ElijahList “prophets” are selling the revelations they received from God at their recent conference held in Albany, Ore. You can own the entire 11-CD set for $53.99 or own the DVDs for $62.99. See them here.

Think there’s something fishy about selling prophecies? You’re not alone. The Apostle Paul said this is one sure-fire way to tell apart the true teachers from the false teachers:

Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God. (2 Corinthians 2:17)

In other words, the next time you see a prophecy for sale with an offer that ends at midnight — get a clue.
