Interreligious and International Peace Council — What Herb Thinks
Here we find an example of “Mystery Babylon” at her finest. I’m talking about the Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s so-called Interreligious and International Peace Council. Moon, as you may know, is the founder of the Unification Church. In the book of Revelation we read:
And he carried me [Apostle John] away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF EARTH” (Revelation 17:3-6 New American Standard Bible).
Students of Bible prophecy have long debated who this woman riding the beast is. The identity of the beast she’s riding, however, is commonly believed to be the coming Antichrist and his kingdom — the revived Roman Empire. So, who is this woman?
It’s my opinion “Mystery Babylon” is the Bible’s name for the demonic religion that inspired the builders of the Tower of Babylon. And when God scattered these builders, they carried their demonic religion around the earth. Here’s what the Bible says about this event:
Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. It came about as they journeyed east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar [Iraq] and settled there. They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth” (Genesis 11:1-4).
The amazing thing to me about the Rev. Moon’s message to his Interreligious and International Peace Council, this appears to be exactly what Moon is wanting to do — build a city and a tower whose top will reach into heaven. Here’s part of what Moon says:
Historically, the period immediately following the Second World War was an excellent opportunity to unite the heavenly world and the earthly world centered on Christianity … When such a world is brought about, this will be the Kingdom of God on Earth (Read about it here).
So, is the Rev. Moon’s Unification Church becoming the woman who will ride the beast? Unfortunately, “Mystery Babylon” is much bigger than one religion. You can see her today in all religions — including evangelical Christianity.
For example, have you heard about Joel’s Army? According to some modern-day evangelical prophets, in these last days God is supposed to raise up an army of super Christians who will bring down the Kingdom of God. This is basically the same message Rev. Moon is giving.
And what’s scary to me is how these so-called prophets reverse the truths of end-time prophecy. For example, some teach the white horse in Revelation 6:2 isn’t the Antichrist, it’s Joel’s army going forth to conquer. No, I’m not saying all those who teach these things are under demonic control. But, I am saying they’re teaching doctrines of demons.
Why is that scary? Well, guess who are included in those Joel’s Army is to conquer — other Christians who don’t agree with their doctrines. In other words, Joel’s Army will be persecuting other Christians who don’t go along with them. And, this is exactly what the woman who will ride the beast is to do. The Bible says:
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus (Revelation 17:6).
Yes, indeed, Rev. Moon and Joel’s Army could make quite a team building their city and tower. I wonder how long it will be before they get together?
Perhaps they already have.
