A Little More — What Herb Thinks
I posted the following in reply to questions on our discussion board. Thought others might like to see it too. This is a little more explanation why I feel the document may be so prophetic.
The document is from the WEU Assembly, who is evidently upset with the WEU Council for not keeping them timely informed [see par (xxvi) on page 4].
The Council, where the 10 WEU full member states reside, evidently doesn’t want to dilute their power by allowing new members [see par 107, on page 20].
The WEU nations want to strengthen Solana’s office and give him a global diplomatic service [see par 16, on page 8].
They want to revive [confirm] Solana’s 1995 Euro-Med Partnership [covenant with many nations] [see par (x), page 2].
They’ve been planning their police mission to Gaza since January 2005 [see pa 47, on page 12].
Because of the WEU, they don’t need the EU’s new constitution ratified to do these things. That’s because, within the WEU, they already have the legal framework necessary [see par 9 & 10, on page 7].
Their headline goal is to have all their civilian and military assets fully deployable by 2010, the middle of the EU’s coming seven-year budget period [see page 9].
When we bring this all together — adding the EU’s next seven-year budget, new funding instruments and programs — we see the prophetic picture of Daniel 9:27.
And he will make a firm [other translations say “confirm”] covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate (Daniel 9:27 New American Standard Bible).
