As my regular readers know, I've long been skeptical of the "Religion of Peace" moniker for Muslims – for at least 3,000 reasons right off the top of my head. I think the evidence is going my way this week.

The culture editor of a newspaper in Denmark suspected writers and cartoonists were engaging in self-censorship when it came to the Religion of Peace. It was subtle things, like a Danish comedian's statement, paraphrased by the New York Times, "that he had no problem urinating on the Bible but that he would not dare do the same to the Quran."

So, after verifying that his life insurance premiums were paid up, the editor expressly requested cartoons of Muhammad from every cartoonist with a Danish cartoon syndicate. Out of 40 cartoonists, only 10 accepted the invitation, most of them submitting utterly neutral drawings with no political content whatsoever.

But three cartoons made political points.

One showed Muhammad turning away suicide bombers from the gates of heaven, saying "Stop, stop – we ran out of virgins!" – which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence.

Another was a cartoon of Muhammad with horns, which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence.

The third showed Muhammad with a turban in the shape of a bomb, which I believe was an expression of post-industrial ennui in a secular – oops, no, wait: It was more of a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence.

In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence.

Muslims are the only people who make feminists seem laid-back.

The little darlings brandish placards with typical Religion of Peace slogans, such as: "Behead Those Who Insult Islam," "Europe, you will pay, extermination is on the way" and "Butcher those who mock Islam." They warn Europe of their own impending 9-11 with signs that say: "Europe: Your 9/11 will come" – which is ironic, because they almost had me convinced the Jews were behind the 9-11 attack.

The rioting Muslims claim they are upset because Islam prohibits any depictions of Muhammad – though the text is ambiguous on beheadings, suicide bombings and flying planes into skyscrapers.

The belief that Islam forbids portrayals of Muhammad is recently acquired. Back when Muslims created things, rather than blowing them up, they made paintings, frescoes, miniatures and prints of Muhammad.

But apparently the Quran is like the Constitution: It's a "living document," capable of sprouting all-new provisions at will. Muslims ought to start claiming the Quran also prohibits indoor plumbing, to explain their lack of it.

Other interpretations of the Quran forbid images of humans or animals, which makes even a child's coloring book blasphemous. That's why the Taliban blew up those priceless Buddhist statues, bless their innocent, peace-loving little hearts.

Largely unnoticed in this spectacle is the blinding fact that one nation is missing from the long list of Muslim countries (by which I mean France and England) with hundreds of crazy Muslims experiencing bipolar rage over some cartoons: Iraq. Hey – maybe this democracy thing does work! The barbaric behavior of Europe's Muslims suggests that the European welfare state may not be attracting your top-notch Muslims.

Making the rash assumption for purposes of discussion that Islam is a religion and not a car-burning cult, even a real religion can't go bossing around other people like this.

Catholics aren't short on rules, but they couldn't care less if non-Catholics use birth control. Conservative Jews have no interest in forbidding other people from mixing meat and dairy. Protestants don't make a peep about other people eating food off one another's plates. (Just stay away from our plates – that's disgusting.)

But Muslims think they can issue decrees about what images can appear in newspaper cartoons. Who do they think they are, liberals?

An interesting commentary by Ann Coulter on the Islamic outrage over the Danish cartoons depicting Muhammad. Of additional interest was a comment by a long-time friend of RevFiles who made the following observation regarding the frieze of Muhammad on the Supreme Court wall…

Regarding the frieze of the Pirate Muhammad at the U.S. Supreme Court: yes, he's holding a sword, but it's even better than that! Mohammed is holding the Qura'an with his left hand. Devout Muslims all know that when Mohammed wiped himself after defecating, he always used his left hand. It is their practice to do likewise in imitation of him. As a result, Muslims will avoid at all cost even touching the Qura'an with their left hand.

So where’s the outrage over this frieze, which has been there for years? Why no Muslim outcry to remove Muhammad’s image from the Supreme Court? I see this as opportunists within the radical Islamic community who want to force a jihad with the non-Muslim world making the Danish cartoon issue a scapegoat to justify a campaign of violence and bloodshed with those who oppose the “religion of peace”. The radical Muslim elements want this jihad, and will stop at nothing to push for an Islamic world!

Iran is continuing down the road to create nuclear weapons, and has repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel…and it appears that much of the uproar from the Danish cartoons has come from Iran and Syria. Israel will not stand by and let Iran’s radical religious sects obtain weapons of mass destruction and will at some point take action alone if the world doesn’t contain Iran. It may soon come to the place where the US and Israel stands alone (perhaps with Great Britian) against the rest of the world as the push for a Muslim dominated and controlled planet grows in intensity.

Things in the Middle East are going to continue to heat up…and Muslim expectations are high that the Mahdi will come soon and unite the Muslim world. This could mark the soon revelation of the antichrist to the world and bring about the events foretold in the Bible referred to as the Great Tribulation. Keep your eyes on Israel, and keep about the work of the Kingdom until Christ returns for His church.
This cartoonist and his editor made a choice, now the world has to live with the conquences. This is why I believe it would have been more responsible to just keep it to themselves.

Being responsible is something all writers need to take into consideration.

Obviously coming from a Christian point of view, something like this would only inflame a Muslim, and not bring them to repentence and receiving Christ as their Savior. So, I say it shouldn't have been done.

Yes, they had the freedom to do this, but with freedom comes responsibility, and even though what they depicted has merit/truth to it, still it should have never been done.
It doesn't matter what you do to the muslim, they're still going to find a way to murder someone over it. Wether or not this editor did this.... they still would have found something.
If the muslims weren't rioting about this, they would be looking for some other reason to riot. Any excuse will do. They are not a peaceful people.

I think it would be really frustrating to try to negotiate or reason with these people.

When the mindset of a Muslim is to kill, then reasoning isn't going to work.

The evil spirit that is behind Islam can't be reasoned with no matter how hard one tries.

I believe the only reason the AC will get anywhere with them is, they will lie and say anything to get what they want which is to destroy Isreal and kill every Jew that walks this earth.
Most of the Western media won't publish the pictures because they don't want to offend or stir up the muslim world.

Of course when they published the Abu Graib photos they knew they would offend and stir up the muslim world.

The the lesson here is that the Western media is being honest...they are willing to publish pictures that will offend and strip up the muslim world...but only when the target of that offense is our troops...it is only when the media would become the target of the muslim world that they're concerned.

So the fact is, the Western media is lying and they are cowards.
I think I know how the Antichrist *might* get the Muslims to follow him, he could just convince them that he's there "mahdi".
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
I think we have to be a little careful about catagorising all Muslims as violent intolerant people. I think the vast majority of them are NOT like this at all, but just want to hold down a job, pay their bills and raise a family, just the same as us.

The ones that really scare me are the minority (which sadly is still sizeable) that are blinded with hatred, bitterness and resentment towards the secular west and the Jews.

These Muslims are being stirred up and maniuplated by those with political/military motivations, (step forward Iran and Syria, to name but two) to carry out their defacto war against the rest of us.

As far as them being offended. I really don't care if they are offended. Their law forbids Muslims from depicting Mohamed....They are trying to inforce their "law" on the rest of the world and are using our political correctness to accomplish it! I am glad that they are showing who they are and what a "peaceful" religion they are. Bringing the "3 great religions together" as many are trying to do will mean that we are all subject to sharia law. They are advancing their cause.
Appeasement doesn't work! If I ask my daughter to clean up her room... do I settle for her just shoving the clothes and mess under her bed? No, because that isn't cleaning up. it is simply ignoring the problem, only making it worse to deal with later.

That is exactly where we are no. No one wants to deal with the problem. It has happened over and over in history and you only have to look back a bit to see the results. 9/11, WWII, etc.

I don't have the answers, but ignoring it will not work. People have the right to be offended by what I say, but I still have the right to say it. As Hollywood always tells us about TV and movies - if you don't like it don't watch it. Well, if the muslims don't like the cartoons, don't look at them.
I don't think that we should ignore the threat from Islam it is much bigger then our Politicans are admitting. But, I really have to agree with CD, it was so irresponsible and yes, downright foolish to do this.

We already know how jumped up these people get why do anything to provide them with an excuse to riot? Didn't France have enough of the riots there? I just don't get it. This was insane.

I do not believe that anyone has said "all muslims" this or that. I don't know if your statement about a "vast majority" however. Have you seen the results of polls in, for example, amongst the Palestinians? It's something like over 60% that support the suicide bombings.

With something like 1.3 Billion muslims in the world, even if it's just 10% that are militant and dangerous we're talking about 130 MILLION. That is something to be concerned about.

BTW, did you see the protestors in London who were holding up the signs that said Europe's 9/11 is coming? Or the ones that said behead anyone who insults Islam? How about the guy who showed up to the protest wearing a fake bomb belt, and when interviewed he said he'd be willing to wear a real one if needed?

Europe has a ticking bomb in it's midst and it seems that the chosen path is appeasement...which isn't going to work.
