News and Views: America Betrays Israel- Where Do You Stand?

Postby John Gilbert on Tue Feb 07, 2006 4:32 am

So, here's how Hamas gets to rule Palestine and keep EU, US and Israeli cash flowing in to its terrorist activities meant to destroy Israel, all with the explicit approval of President Bush's cabinet.

This is a great deal for Israel, wouldn't you agree?

What is the best way for America to win the war against terror? By supporting behind the scenes the most visible terrorist organization on the planet?

If America pursues this course we will lose the war on terror. You cannot win a war when you refuse to identify your enemy.
DEBKAfile reports: Washington backs Egyptian bid to sway Hamas leaders to accept a back-seat, wire-puller role in Palestinian rule and then extort Israeli assent

February 7, 2006, 11:52 AM (GMT+02:00)

Hamas’ first response was a threat by its supreme commander Jaabari Abu Obeida to end its informal ceasefire and resume full-scale suicide attacks on Israel. This was a bargaining maneuver after Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman put the deal to Hamas leaders, Khaled Mashaal from Damascus and Mahmoud a-Zahar from Gaza whom he received in Cairo Monday, Feb. 6.

Also on Monday, US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice put in a telephone call to Israel’s acting prime minister Ehud Olmert to convey the impression that the Bush administration favored the deal.

In Cairo, Suleiman held out the lure of the first Hamas audience with president Hosni Mubarak, if they proved cooperative.

According to DEBKAfile’s political sources, Rice argued in favor of letting Hamas form a government headed by a neutral figure under their backroom control. Hamas would get minor portfolios like Labor or Social welfare, but use them to pull the levers of government. Mahmoud Abbas said he could pull this off but, as usual, asked for time - six months’ grace in this instance to restore the strength of his Fatah. He would then cook up a constitutional crisis and call a new election in which the restored Fatah would oust Hamas.

Rice informed Olmert that Washington believes the Abu Mazen scenario can work because Hamas’ 74 legislative council seats are less than the two-thirds parliamentary majority needed to frustrate it. Israel was not asked for its consent.

DEBKAfile’s analysts sum up the real objective of this US-Egyptian exercise as being to buy six months of calm - time for edging Israel into accepting the accomplished fact of a Hamas-backed Palestinian government. Abbas has not the slightest chance of rebuilding Fatah. The funds Israeli transfers to a Palestinian government formally headed by a non-Hamas figure will therefore be available to build up Hamas’ strength. The radical Islamic terror group will use the six months’ grace to establish its legitimacy in government and quietly pick up international acceptance without recognizing Israel or disarming – whether Israel likes it or not.

Israel’s Nuclear Policy Fiasco after Its Hamas Contretemps

DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis

February 4, 2006, 11:34 PM (GMT+02:00)

Washington and the European Union are congratulating themselves on getting 27 of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s 35 members to refer the Iranian nuclear program to the UN Security Council. This is still a long way from sanctions. But the diplomatic achievement was achieved at a price, one that was paid for by the collapse of a fundamental Israeli policy platform just two weeks after the interim Olmert government was rocked back by the Islamic Hamas terror group’s attainment of enough parliamentary seats to form the next Palestinian government.

Saturday, Feb. 4, Jerusalem stood back and watched the United States buckle under European pressure and accept Egypt’s demand to incorporate the following phrase in the resolution on Iran:

The resolution recognized “that a solution to the Iranian issue would contribute to global nonproliferation efforts and… the objective of a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction, including their means of delivery.”

This linkage between Iran’s violations of its commitments under international treaty and the Israeli case has long been demanded by the Arab states and opposed by Washington. Its acceptance now opens the way for the integration of the same linkage in the Security Council debate on Iran. It provides a pretext for a whole new set of maneuvers and dilatory tactics by Tehran.

For Israel, there are several serious ramifications:

1. The last batch of prime ministers, the late Yithzak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Ehud Barak, Binyamin Netanyahu, Ariel Sharon and now Ehud Olmert, opted to leave the nuclear issue in the hands of the United States and the United Nations. None of them foresaw the day when the Israeli case would be dredged up as a stratagem to ease the passage of the Iranian nuclear crisis to the UN Security Council.

2. While the Vienna decision looks like a victory for Western diplomacy, Iran’s leaders have lost no time in seizing on it as a license to go full throttle ahead with their illicit uranium enrichment, free of UN spot inspections. Furthermore, they have been given added leverage: before halting their own program, they can demand that the entire Middle East be disarmed - first and foremost Israel.

3. The reference to weapons of mass destruction and means of delivery would also require Israel to give up its long-range missiles.

4. The Arab states will achieve their old ambition of forcing the Security Council to address Israel’s nuclear program.

5. The American surrender to the Arab demand was carried through by telephone between US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and Egyptian foreign minister Aboul Gheit. Jerusalem was not brought into the picture and was taken completely unawares. This is an indicator of how Washington regards interim prime minister Ehud Olmert.

6. The Bush administration’s capitulation to Arab and European demands is part of the collapse of the larger US strategy in the Middle East ever since Hamas rose to victory two weeks ago. Washington’s changed attitude shows up in one issue after another, the Palestinians, Lebanon, Syria and now Iran.

Olmert and his foreign minister Tzipi Livni say they are pleased to see international opinion lining up behind their stipulations from Hamas, but this apparent alignment is no more than diplomatic claptrap. Europe has not halted its aid program for the Palestinian Authority claiming that the Hamas-led government is not yet in place. The Olmert government is about to follow suit. Despite all the high-flown sentiments about pre-conditions to force Hamas to disarm and recognize Israel, Mahmoud Abbas has started negotiations with the fanatical Islamic leaders on forming a new government, while they declare outright they have no intention of abandoning their objective of destroying Israel.

On all these fronts, Israel’s fundamental interests are fast eroding under inimical initiatives, while its government maintains a posture of complacent passivity.
Re: DEBKA Reports: US Supports Israeli Extortion Plan by Eg

Hello Everyone,

Well, it all makes sense now. This will be a long report. However, I encourage you to read this report today, both the commentary here and the news above. Things will begin to happen very shortly in our world where at the end of the day good will be said to triumph over evil. I want you to know beforehand that this will not be the case. Today it is time to know both who you are and for Whom you stand. There is no longer a middle ground.

There has been a seismic shift in American foreign policy that has reared it's ugly head. Two events have made this shift possible. This change in foreign policy is fundamentally unacceptable. I will explain.

The first cause of this shift in foreign policy is the Iranian threat. Not the Iranian nuclear threat that's reported on every day, but the Iranian threat against the petrodollar. America is determined to pursue a course to eliminate this threat. That's all well and good. Iran needs to be dealt with, and like the Iraq War, there will be a price paid by America in the form of American blood. America has fought wars before where the price was high but the cause noble, whether or not those on the liberal left happened to agree. Like before, the cause against Iran is noble, even if they don't report the whole reason of why we are fighting it. America will take down Iran to preserve it's way of life.

The second cause of this seismic shift is the Hamas political coup d'etat that has happened in Palestine. The political victory played out on worldwide television by the most recognizeable name in terrorism has forced America to show its cards. I can promise you, along these lines you will not like the hand we're playing.

On the one hand we have Iran, a universally accepted terrorist regime that condemns the very existence of Israel and America, has contributed financially and militarily against the war on terror, and America is pursuing a course to take them down. On the other hand we have Hamas, a universally accepted terrorist regime that condemns the very existence of Israel and America, has contributed financially and militarily against the war on terror, and what is America doing? It is revealed today that America is supporting Hamas behind the scenes, orchestrating maneuvers by Hamas that will guarantee control by Hamas of Palestine while keeping the EU, US, and Israeli money flowing into them. Why? There was a price to be paid by America for drumming up support for the Iran War. It is also revealed today and is increasingly apparent that the price paid by America was Israel.

Friends, America is knee deep in a war against terror (honestly and truthfully, Islam). Aren't we? If we are against Iran we must be against Hamas. Correct? Well, no. America is not fighting a war against terrorism and it is not fighting a war against Islam either. America is fighting a war to preserve it's way of life by preserving the dollar. It is in our interest to fight to preserve the dollar; without the artificial support of world oil consumption being purchased in dollars America's house of cards comes crashing down. Fast. However, this time, the price is too high for the price is Israel.

If you are a secular, nonreligious person Israel might not seem like too high a price. After all, Israel is only a tiny little sliver of land with a tiny little sliver of population that contributes very little to the American economy, drains us of tax dollars, and is a country that remains hated by its larger and richer neighbors, causing friction between us. However, if you are a Christian then selling out Israel is not so easy. I suppose you can reason as a Christian that in reality Israel doesn't think too much of us Christians, and truth be told they don't. That argument doesn't hold water when you begin to understand a fundamental truth: it doesn't matter what the Jews think of Christians, it matters what God thinks of the Jews. You see, Israel remains the apple of God's eye (Deuteronomy 32:9-11; Zechariah 2:7-9). In God's eyes, you either bless the Jews or curse the Jews. Traditionally America has blessed the Jews, and we have reaped untold blessings because of it. In fact, I believe it is the fundamental truth in which God has allowed our nation to prosper. Let me ask you a couple questions: Can you name one nation throughout history that has cursed the Jews and prospered? What are the consequences for cursing the Jews?

Let me explain now how America has betrayed Israel. First, over the weekend you may recall that America won broad support against Iran and its intentions on building nuclear facilities. Iran as you know has been reported to the UN Security Council. Very late in the process Egypt made a proposal to tie the Iranian nuclear issue in with the broader concept of Middle East nonproliferation. The intent of this action, as has happened many times before and always followed up with an American veto, is to begin the process of disarming Israel. Israel exists as a peace loving country who remains surrounded by enemies sworn to her annihilation. Yes, Israel is a nuclear country. No, Israel has never used them. But Israel through public disclosure of its Samson option has made well known that if a time comes when Israel faces checkmate that it will use all means available to eliminate their enemy, even if they take themselves out along with them. This has been the sole deterrent to any real military threat coming back up against Israel in our immediate past. What happened over the weekend is despicable. This tying in of Israel to the Iranian nuclear threat was accepted by America in order to win the broadest support possible against Iran. Today, it is reported that America and Egypt are in bed together against Israel yet again, this time by clandestinely supporting Hamas. It simply is not politically expedient for America, the EU or any other non-Islamic nation to openly support Hamas. Hamas' intentions are very clear. They openly support the annihilation of the Jewish state, and support all means necessary including terrorism to achieve this goal. If Bush were to openly support Hamas, the Republicans would surely lose ground this election year because of the Christian right that supports Israel. Today, America is reported to support an Egyptian measure that keeps Hamas funded with EU, US and Israeli cash, giving them time to build up arms and political infrastructure with our tax dollars. This is accomplished by Hamas agreeing to not take open control of the PA, but steering the government behind the scenes. This measure was accomplished without consultation and without approval from Israel. Tying Israel into the problem with Iran is an outright betrayal of Israel by America. Transferring hundreds of millions of dollars over to Israel's enemy who is sworn to annihilate her is an outright betrayal of Israel by America. There is no other way to look at it.

Now let me explain why I believe America has betrayed Israel. I believe America is just exactly like a robust, strong, vibrant person who has everything going for them that is getting ready to suffer a fatal brain hemmorage. On the outside, everything looks great. The economy is booming. Interest rates are low. Jobs are being created. Very few of us are hungry. Very few of us are truly poor. Each and every one of us have modern conveniences that kings and queens a hundred years ago never thought of. We are the economic center of the world. The world marvels at our technology. Our military remains unrivaled, our destructive capability unmatched. However, there is a weak link and that is our dollar. It floats around out there totally unsupported by real value. For the last thirty years it has been supported artifically by oil demand. This artificial demand for the dollar has forced America in to some unpalatable decisions, like looking the other way when Saudi Arabia says there is no room at the table for Christians and Jews, or when others claim America is Satan. As a country our dependence on the petrodollar has forced us to get in bed with some interesting ideologies that are opposed to the core beliefs of America. As a country our dependence on the petrodollar has allowed those ideologies unfettered access to the minds of our children at the expense of raising up a learned, well adjusted citizenry. We have sacrificed these things in order for America to preserve its fast living. Two billion dollars a day of American debt must be purchased by the world to preserve our out of control spending. The reality is that America has a fiat money supply, and that reality is now being called to task by our enemies. Our enemies plan to sell their oil in euros at the dollar's peril. America must fight to protect the current status quo. It is not in the interests of America to have the world buying and selling oil priced in euros. Is it in the interests of Europe to have the world buying and selling oil priced in dollars? Not anymore. Since World War II, Europe has relied on the US for its protection in the form of NATO. Things change. Europe is going federal, known less and less for the individual countries and more and more as the European Union, the revived Roman Empire. The EU now has battlegroups at their disposal to effect their political will, and they remain a nuclear power. The EU has become a major economic force, and they have begun to throw around their weight. The dollar is now a bargaining chip. If America wants to continue supporting the value of its dollar through the monopolization of the oil markets, then America must negotiate the terms. Today, through analyzing the information that we have available, it appears that America has accepted the terms the EU required for continued support of the dollar, and those terms were EU superiority in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. No mention of the EU was made in the news, but Condi Rice is all over it, and we all know by now that wherever and whenever Condi gets face time in the press, Solana is behind the scenes.

In summary, the price America paid to protect the interests of its dollar was Israel. The price was paid to the EU, namely Solana. In return for support against Iran in the UN Security Council and wielding his influence to help shape world opinion against Iran, Solana gets the fate of Israel all to himself. Solana once said, "The European Union will be involved in any Israeli-Palestinian peace process, whether Israel likes it or not" (7/23/2004, 64.233.179.104/search?q=c...lnk&cd=1). Solana always seems to get what he wants. In the world's eyes, especially America's, Israel might not seem to be too big a price to pay in return for continued manipulation of the world's energy prices. And, as America has learned, peace in Israel has proved to be a hard nut to crack. Why not allow the Europeans to take over in this regard if that's what floats their boat? It's a no-win situation for America anyway, and letting Europe control the issue will help firm up our relationships with all of Israel's enemies. Let me be clear: you will most likely see no front page headlines on how we have sold out Israel. In fact, you will probably see the opposite. You will most likely continue to see the face of American foreign policy in regards to the Middle East peace process and the Quartet as opposed to the face of the EU. You will continue to hear stories and headlines of how Iran has become an immediate threat to America and Israel, a clear and present danger requiring action. You will also hear stories about how America will not fund Hamas, and how Hamas must be kept out of controlling the PA. There will also come a time when you hear that the Iranian regime has fallen and that Iran's nuclear ambitions have been demolished. Victory will be announced. Good over evil will be trumpeted. Now, when that time comes, you will know the true price America paid, whom she betrayed, and who really won.

I have given you the information necessary to connect the dots. Here are some other pieces to the puzzle: Mystery Babylon; Covenant with Many; Antichrist. Just as God long foretold, Jerusalem is the heavy stone of which all the nations are gathered against. It is now time to take your stand. As a Christian your Creator has told you that Israel is the apple of His eye. He has told you that those that curse Israel will be cursed. As an American you have come into the knowledge that your country has sold out Israel.

You cannot serve two masters.
My question is, what can we do? Our goverments lie to us. Our news people lie to us. And the world is ruled by a few out for their own power and wealth. This all makes me so mad and helpless we really have no rights and no freedom.
Simply tell the truth. Tell your friends and family the truth about Hurricane Katrina. It was both a judgment and a warning from God for the way in which we forced Israel's hand. To continue down the same road simply invites more catastrophe upon our own heads. If America must make a stand then she should stand with Israel.

Just as in the days of old when there were those in the midst of nations that warned their leaders of the truth, put your faith in action and be bold in your faith. Know the God Whom you serve. Tell others to repent of their sins and that time grows short. Tell them why.
It truely breaks my heart when I try to share this type of information with people I love, and they just look at me like I'm nuts and going insane.
I believe the media in controlled by the "powers that be" and yes, of course, we are lied to constantly. Manipulation of the masses. I always believe there is more going on behind the scenes than we are told.
Hey, I completely understand. I taught a prophecy class two years ago called "Eschawhat?" that ran every week for four months. We hit on all the major points of Bible prophecy, and I focused on the rise of the Roman Empire and the correlation between the WEU/Solana and the 10 horns/little horn. Most people looked at me like I had a third eye for a while, but a few people were reached and have along with me become intense followers of the times we live in, longing for Jesus to call us home.
America is a secular society. There's no getting around that. However, that's not how it was founded. It was founded with the intent of worshipping Christ as outlined in the New Testament, with the stated goal of spreading the gospel from sea to shining sea.

I love my country and the freedom that she represents. The fight against Iran will be noble because Iran represents tyranny, oppression, fascism and antisemitism. God has blessed this country of ours, and our forefathers sacrificed their lives so that we might have the freedom to reach people for Christ today. Though we may falter today, there remains a chance that our country might still turn back to Jesus.
The cause against Iran is noble. The price America paid (Israel) is too high.

He was raised Catholic and just has no clue. But, I plant seeds when he's not suspecting it.

Anyway, I joined this board because he thinks I'm nuts and we are both happy for it!!!!! Don't feel alone cuz, you're not!

Quote:
Though we may falter today, there remains a chance that our country might still turn back to Jesus.

Wow! Wouldn't that just be awesome if we, as a nation, turned back to Jesus?!?

I love America also but in my finite mind, I just don't see that happening.

Given the division in our own country regarding issues like church and state, abortion, homosexual marriage, creation studies, and on and on....I think there would be major "uproar" if our government would actually be so bold as to proclaim and turn to Christ.

It would seem to me that something really terrible would need to happen here in order for everyone to "wake up."
------------------
Is there any way that God told Bush to sell out Israel...because Israel is getting complacent about their religion...and God?

Kind of an Old Testament thing where God says to Israel..."You have been under the protection of the US too long...time to trust in who you have barely ever trusted in"...so he tells George to keep the enemies at the gates?

On a related note, having the Palestinians so close makes nuking Israel less and less of a solution for Iran...unless their president is a madman...oops...that theory doesn't work.
Notice Who is talking here.

Zech 14 NIV (just for convenience)

2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.

I don't believe God brings the nations against Israel this time as a judgment. This time God brings the nations against Israel so a remnant will rise up and declare Jesus Christ Messiah. Christ then rules the world from Jerusalem:

5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake [a] in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, [c] in summer and in winter.

9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

10 The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses. 11 It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.

14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. (This is very interesting considering Olmert today came out as supporting the surrender of Judah and Samaria to the Palestinians)

16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.

20 On that dayHOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the LORD's house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar. 21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD Almighty, and all who come to sacrifice will take some of the pots and cook in the
hey Mabell, you said:

On a related note, having the Palestinians so close makes nuking Israel less and less of a solution for Iran...unless their president is a madman...oops...that theory doesn't work.
========

I don't think that Iran will care if Palestinians get killed. They have an agenda, and that is to kill Jews and destroy Israel as a Nation. So if some Palestinians get in the way and are killed, he's not going to care.

I can see Iran sending a Nuke to Israel, and it doesn't make it's course and destroys Demascus, thus fulfilling scripture about Demascus.
John,
That was a great post.... thank you. Even my non-political mind didn't blank out and say .

I have to add that the closer I come to Jesus, the more I get looked at by the rest of the world as a weirdo. I love it!!! It makes me so uncomfortable that I'm almost to the point I can put that "Jesus Freak" sticker on my van and really feel like I'm a true believer!!! This is exactly where the Lord wants us to be........... NOT in the arms of the world, but in His arms.

So to all you "freaks" like me.... keep talking to those who don't believe.... you must be doing something right!!!

CD,

I think you are right. The president of Iran doesn't care about the Palestinians, or his own people either. I think he only cares about having the power to be leader of the Islamic world. He is not a rational person, so who knows what he might do?
