I find this news story interesting, while I strongly disagree with her
posistion and find everythign she stands for offensive. I think its a bit scary for them to arrest her for having a t-shirt that criticized whitehouse policy. unlawful conduct? perhaps I'm over reacting but expressing your opinnion in a non violent manner shouldnt be unlawful.

She's had many forums and a lot of camera time to discuss her opinions, but to wear a t shirt protesting the war during a presidential state of the union address is in poor taste. We know full well if she was allowed to stay she would start ranting and disrupt the whole speech in front of the entire nation.

"She was asked to cover it up. She did not," said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman, adding that Sheehan was arrested for unlawful conduct, a misdemeanor.

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested in the House chamber on Tuesday shortly before President Bush gave his State of the Union address because she refused to cover up an anti-war slogan on her shirt.

Sheehan, who was attending the speech as the guest of Democratic Rep. Lynn Woolsey of California, was taken from the Capitol in handcuffs and charged with unlawful conduct, said Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider.

A Reuters photographer said Sheehan entered the House gallery a few minutes before Bush was to speak and was directed to her seat. She had been seated for less than a minute when a plainclothes Capitol Police officer took her by the arm, said, "You've got to leave," and rushed her from the gallery.

Sheehan did not resist and left with a smile. Rather than hearing Bush say in his speech that there would be no sudden U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, Sheehan was being processed at the Capitol Police headquarters near the Capitol.

Schneider said Sheehan was arrested because she was wearing a T-shirt with an anti-war slogan and refused to cover it up. She said the unlawful conduct charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

Sheehan, who became a central figure for the U.S. anti-war movement after her son Casey was killed in the Iraq war, won wide attention with an anti-war vigil outside Bush's Texas ranch.

Sheehan and other activists were arrested in September for protesting outside the White House without a permit, a misdemeanor that carriers a $50 fine.

People are free to speak their minds, but they must do so lawfully, and orderly. Sheehan has a history breaking the law to speak her piece.

Should anti-war demonstrators be allowed to riot in the Congress? Would anybody else be allowed to wave banners, or be disrespectul, disruptive? She was there as a guest, and couldn't even be respectful.

This whole thing reeks of being a publicity ploy. Don't forget she is talking about running for Senator Feinstein's job.

~~~~~~~~~~
When people build their life on something - a son, a job, their money, their looks, their family name - whatever it is that they put their faith and identity into - when it is taken from them they become a little "unhinged."
Remember the stock brokers who plunged out the windows on Wall Street when their fortunes suddenly disappeared in the crash? Their trust was in the wrong thing and when it was gone they were "unhinged."
That is why your life has to be built on the rock - Jesus - or your "world" built on the sand will collapse and you may be so severly jarred that you become unhinged from the truth.
Luk 6:48 He is like a person building a house, who dug a deep hole to lay the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the floodwaters pushed against that house but couldn't shake it, because it had been founded on the rock.
The worldly foundations are built on sand....but more disturbing is that the church is teaching people to build on sand too...forgetting this.
Luk 6:49
But the person who hears what I say but doesn't act on it is like someone who built a house on the ground without any foundation. When the floodwaters pushed against it, that house quickly collapsed, and the ruin of that house was devastating."
she has become an opportunist. Her foolishness is plain to see except to her.
she is a troubled lady. she needs our prayers and perhaps the Lord can break through and touch her heart.
I don't know if this lady is saved or not. I disagree with her opinions, but the thing I think of is that she lost her son, and it's easier for someone like her to place the blame on our President. Most unbelievers place blame on God, so she could be protesting against God and not the President.
My heart goes out to her in the fact that she lost her son, so I see someone who appears to be without the Lord trying to cope, but doing it very badly.
She will always be in a mental prison as long as bitterness and anger control her every thought, and actions.
She was a guest, and how she got that, I don't know, but she should have acted like a guest. Her own actions speak loud and clear against her.
She needs out prayers most of all.
