This is certainly interesting. I've heard from Irvin Baxter and I will be praying for clearity and understanding, but his argument is that in the context of daniel 7, the 4 beasts are kingdoms that will be around for Jesus' second coming. The lion symbolizes Great Britain (also their "mascot"), its wings that are plucked off and given a human mind represents the 13 colonies forming the U.S., the bear as russia, the leopard as germany (four heads represents 4 reichs), and the 4 wings of a fowl (rooster/France) represents the franco-german alliance. The 4th beast represents the revived roman empire.
Supposedly, when Irvin was younger (in the 60s), he heard a small voice inside telling him to pick up a newspaper. He was staying in a small town at the time and the only place with newspapers was the cafe. Well, he bought a newspaper, read the headline, and it had to deal with the German's supplying the world's best tank, the leopard, and he mentioned a quote showing germany's dominance in europe over the past 100-150 years. The leopard is said to have "dominion" and so far they've started 3 very large wars.
It will be very interesting to see if Germany plays a role in the time of the end.
