I'm not sure what to do

Postby Sword of Geddon on Wed May 02, 2012 10:10 pm

I have a rage, an anger inside me. I've had it awile now, and I don't know if I should consider it fine and normal or if I should oppose it or pray it away as it were.

Whenever I see injustice, immorality of any kind or hear the lord or his word attacked in any way I get very very angry and the thoughts I have are not something a Christian should have..yet they are a part of me..and feel right sometimes..even though I know they aren't.

I feel like I am wrestling a dragon.

You may be right here.
ειπεν αυτη ο ιησους εγω ειμι η αναστασις και η ζωη ο πιστευων εις εμε καν αποθανη ζησεται
. . . saying to her Jesus, I AM the resurrection and the life, the one believing into Me even dying shall live . . .

It is normal (carnal) but yes, we need to resist and pray (spiritual).

Be ye angry (nothing wrong with that)

but sin not (we are free to love now)

don't let the enemy of your soul (the "loser") usurp freedom from you by allowing the loser the freedom to cultivate unholy thoughts and actions......you are a child of Almighty God, you were born to love, and the loser can't overcome love.
Find seven years of tribulation plainly stated in the Bible.

Romans 12:9-18

New International Version (NIV)
Love in Action

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

I remind myself that God hates those things too.

Proverbs 6

16 There are six things which the LORD hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A false witness who utters lies,
And one who spreads strife among brothers.

He is a just God. Either you are saved and Jesus paid for your sins, or you'll pay for them yourself. I dwell on that for awhile. If not saved, these people will face a God who keeps His promises and has said vengence is His, and He will repay, and they will face Him with no protection. Having died without showing mercy, they will be shown none. THAT is such a horrifying picture to me that it moves me to pity and prayer for their salvation and awe at what Jesus did for me.

It's easy to get upset at the things going on in this world, but really what can you do? The best thing is just to keep focused on God and let him take care of the injustices. We know this world will get worse and worse before He returns and He is the only one that can fix it, remember EVERY knee will bow. Ask God to help you with your anger, it may not change over night but keep at it.

It really does feel like we are about to enter the last days doesn't it?

I think we are already in the last days, the more I see the more I'm convinced we are heading toward tribulation. Only God knows how much time we have left. It's both exciting and scary at the same time.

Sword, I wonder if your anger doesn't possibly stem a little from frustration... we want God to punish sinners and remove sin from this earth NOW.

But God has his own time and agenda... He has His reasons for allowing them to continue this long. We just don't know His reasons. Not yet.

Perhaps the way to conquer the carnal side of the anger that rises up in you, is to draw closer to the feet of Jesus, learning of Him. For He is meek and lowly in heart. When we get in that yoke with Him, learning from Him how to be meek and lowly in heart, in all circumstances, letting God be God... it is there that we find rest for the soul. That is when we can "enter into that rest" that Hebrews says remains for the people of God. This is the true Sabbath of the New Covenant.

Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will recieve you... Abstain from all appearance of evil...Without holiness shall no man see the Lord.

I'm not sure what to do.....

anger, wrath and indignation.....

Be angery but sin not...
God has anger and indignation and wrath....

when our sins are full.....we with see His furious indignation and wrath...

God is love.....but he has furious and and indignation and wrath..
We must control our anger over sin.....that we see today
There is a scripture that says......
Jer 10:10 But the LORD 3068 [is] the true 571 God 430, he [is] the living 2416 God 430, and an everlasting 5769 king 4428: at his wrath 7110 the earth 776 shall tremble 7493, and the nations 1471 shall not be able to abide 3557 his indignation 2195. ys...God's furrious indignation and wrath will be poured out...

God is longsuffering not willing that any should perish....But he Has Wrath, and Anger, Indignation....
We must be patient and long suffering not willing that any perish....We also must keep our our soul in divine order..
Control....

Take comfort in the fact that God will not let those who do evil go unpunished. He will repay them, we are right to be angry when we see wickedness perpetrated in the world, righteous anger is justified, yet we must allow God to repay those who do the deeds of wickedness. Look to the psalms of David, time after time he calls on the Lord to avenge him, and to take vengeance on those who do wrong. Our job is to love our enemies and leave the vengeance in the Lord's hands.

Leviticus 19:18
18 ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.

Romans 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
20 “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Matthew 5:44-45
44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
